Great Wolf Lodge and Williamsburg

I would love some more information about this. I've checked the website and am waiting for a vacation planner from the Williamsburg COC. DD wants to go to Disney World in October. I want to do something different and this looks great.

1. If you stay in the lodge, is admission to the waterpark included?
2. Whenever I drag dh to this kind of stuff, he is great. But I am always looking for things to do that he will enjoy and spend a day for him. Like the naval museum in Pensacola or Kennedy Space Center when we go to Disney or air plane museums or train museums. Is there anything like that within an hour or so of Great Wolf Lodge?
3. Flying in? Is Norfolk the closest place to fly in?
4. So we do a day at the waterpark, a day at Busch Gardens on the weekend, what other fun stuff is there? We like to hike and do outdoor stuff that doesn't require standing in lines, too.

The Space Center in Florida is cool. It's one of the stops my family made, when we took our trip to FL in 1979! LOL!

We really enjoyed Johnson Space Center in Houston, so I'm sure Kennedy is cool. I LOVED Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and the "cultural" aspect makes it more interesting than a regular theme park. Your DH would probably enjoy it.

Yes, the waterpark is included with the price of the lodge. You can not get into the waterpark unless you book a room. I have never stayed overnight. However,my daughter and the girlscout troop have stayed over night the last two yrs, and going back In May(I think).
Depending on what time of yr you go, Busch Gardens and Water Country are in Williamsburg as well.
There is Colonia Williamsburg as well, lots of history there.
Norfolk, is the bigger airport in this area. There is also an airport in Newport News, so you may want to check into flights there as well..

We are in VA Beach about 45 minutes from the Great Wolf Lodge. I know Bea is closer to it then I am.

I have been showing my dd the lodge website and the Busch Gardens website and she has abandoned Disney World and is so excited. When her daddy came home from work, she told him that we have decided to do something new and fun that we've not done before. She is so excited and we aren't even going until the first week of October.

Debbie, I so wanted to go to Great Wolf lodge, but I also want to visit Busch Gardens and Water Country ( which is a nice water park in it's own right I hear) I'm going over Memorial day weekend and staying for four days the 22-26, to stay at G.W it would be 1600+ for me and my two kids, but to stay at the historic Days Inn and get 7 day (even though we will just use them for the 4 days) passes to both B.G. and W.C. it's only going to cost me $552.00 and they still get to go to a water par. So I've chose this deal, your going in October W.C will be closed and I think it will be cheaper to stay at G.W. during that time of the year. As someone mentioned there is Colinial Williamsburg, and some other places to sight see ( check hotel web site) under attractions tab. Also if you like seafood may I recommend Captian George Seafood on Richmond Road. ( I've been to the one in Myrtle beach and it was nice, so I'm going to try this one out.

OK we went to GWL and we had a great time. And yes you can go to the park without staying in their rooms. You pay a non guest price. We stayed at the hotel and did the waterpark. The kids loved it and so did we. I will have to say I think it was over priced for what you get but it was fun.

Also check with the GWL about packages for other things outside of the hotel they offer discount stuff for other area adventures.

Good luck happy planning!!

Thanks. We will only be there 4 days. And 1 day we plan to go to Busch Gardens. I'd like to go to something non-fabricated on another day meaning I'd like to do like historical sites or plane museums or something like that.
