Vegas restaurant recommendations
DH has a business trip in Vegas and I am going with him. We will be there from March 16 - March 19. We have tickets for Cirque du Soleil Love on the 17th. Neither of us has ever been to Vegas before, but I know some of you have (Andi, Patti, others??) Can you recommend some nice restaurants for dinner? TIA!
Karen, we will just have missed you! Our family is going the following week, also for business. I constantly hear about the Bellagio Buffet and also the new Wynn hotel is supposed to have excellent food. I'm not sure what the restaurant names are at that one.
Nancy, DH was supposed to have gone last September with other coworkers, but a project deadline interfered with it - they had reservations @ the Wynn that time. The rooms the other guys stayed in were something like 600 sq. ft. They have reserved rooms for us @ Harrahs. I think our only costs are going to be my flight, and then my portion of meals, and of course, any entertainment we opt for. If you hear about any not-to-be-missed places to eat before then, please let me know, you can email me at home. Thanks!
We went and only went to a few out of hotel places to eat. My heads up to you is this. For fast food places only eat at the ones inside of casinos not outside. Outside food is 2-3x more expensive. Inside you will get normal prices. Good luck.
You being from New Oreans, I HATE saying this, and don't shoot me for it, but, my DH and I had the most romantic and wonderful meal at Delmonico's (Emeril's place in the Venetian!) OK... that said, there is also an awesome seafood place in the Bellagio called Aqua.
We love the mexican resaurant in the Venetian. It is on the canal. The have great margaritas, and you can sit and watch the gondolas go by!!! I also love Olives, an Italian Restaurant in the Bellagio, it was expensive though.
I loved a restruant in cesears out by the statues. It was an italian food place. Honestly when I have been to vegas, I spent a lot of time at the black jack tables and food was quick and sweet. The buffet at the mirage is good food. I have seen several shows in vegas, most are good. The only one I didn't like was Danny Gans in the mirage (we picked him over sig and roy...bad choice!). If you like comedy second city can't be beat. I also had a nice time in the spa at the luxor, it is very nice and not super busy like some of the nicer hotels.
Well, we went to the house of blues. I do not recommend it. We went to FIX in Bellagio before we saw Cirque Du Soleil O. It was really nice and good. Gosh right now I can't really remember where else we ate. I'll think about it and let you know.
Thanks for the input. Patti, I am not a fan of HOB either - we've eaten @ the one in N.O. and it wasn't great. Fast food - we don't generally eat fast food. Expensive meals - This is sort of a mini-vacation for us, even though it's really a business trip for DH. We want to eat at some nice places. I know we'll pay more for it, but at our age, it's worth it to us. Any others, please feel free to post! Thanks again.
Karen, I'm waiting for input from a friend of mine who lives in Vegas. Nancy
Go to tripadvisor.com and see what people have to say. I always check there to see what people have to say about a place I am visiting. Sounds like fun. Enjoy yourself!!
Oh - The Cirque show is @ the Mirage, I believe. Angela, we are not opposed to trying an Emeril restaurant elsewhere, thanks for the recommendation. Debbie & Kaye - we both love Mexican & Italian, so that gives us some other options. Nancy, I'd still appreciate any recommendations your friend might have. Dora, I'll check the website you posted. Thanks again!
Buffet at the Mirage My first and only 5 star restaurant experience was at the Renoir at the Mirage. I don't know if it's still open. Very fancy and very expensive.
Karen, To quote my friend, "Anything at Bellagio or MGM." Sorry it wasn't more specific. He's a guy. Enough said. lol
There is a cafe in the Paris Hotel that is great for lunch. I didn't like when we ate there for dinner, but their lunch menu was very good. If the weather is nice you can sit outside, and people watch. I don't know the name of it, but if you enter the hotel at the casino end, you just go directly to the left. And, the Paris Hotel also has one of the best brunch buffets. It gets very crowded though, the lines can be all the way through the casino, so we went at a off time.
Thanks - again!!! :-)
Karen, I e-mailed you.
I've never been as an adult, but wanted to say have fun!
