We had a great time! In NO on Sunday we stayed at the Ambasssador Hotel on Tchoupoulus (sp) Street. Right off of Polydras. It was about five blocks from Bourbon Street and three from the Boardwalk shopping complex. The hotel was very nice. Hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, wrought iron beds.
We were going to go out late after renting a movie but decided to go out about 5, do some shopping, dinner then come home early to rent the movie....well, it's easy to say 2:30 am came by very quickly!
We had a lager in an Irish pub, did some shopping, had a beer in some bar that had a live band with instruments from washboards. Then had dinner at Pat O'Brians. Fun place. Everyone we met was very funny and friendly. We went into the back of PO's, had a drink and met some very nice men from NY and Texas. Walked with them to some bar that had dueling pianos. Then went to another place for drinks and live band.
One fo the men walked us back to our hotel. My friend was hooking up with him, and sat outside for a bit with him. The concierge at the front desk actually checked on her twice to make sure she was okay.
We stayed up talking until 4:30. Slept in late then on to BR. There we renting the movie and dozed. The seminar was Monday evening. Home on Tuesday.
It was such a treat to be on my own. I've been back to "reality" for a week now....

I LOVE LOVE New Orleans!!! The last time I was there was my honeymoon in 1999, and I can't wait to go back! I just love the city!
