What have you all found to be the best way to clean leather furniture? We got a duel reclining leather couch today (at a GREAT deal!). Can I just wipe it down with a damp towel, or should I use something else? Tia :)

My dd has a pair of leather pants and the directions are to wipe it down with a damp cloth. I don't know if I would use any chemicals on it. I am no expert, but hope that helped a little. :)

When we bought our leather couch we got a leather cleaning kit along with it for free. Mostly I just wipe it down with a damp rag, but clean and condition it occasionally. Thanks for the reminder---I need to do that soon. The conditioner is good to make sure the leather doesn't dry and crack over the years. I'm sure you can get some leather cleaning supplies at an upholstry store or where you bought your furniture.

Thanx, Pam and Candis. We didn't get any cleaning or conditioning supplies with it, but we'll pick some up. We bought it at American Furniture Warehouse. It was either a floor model or a return and was marked down from $1299 to $299!!! So I can see it's a little dirty here and there, but it still smells new (new leather stinks, imho) and it looks great. I guess until I get something I'll just use a damp cloth. :)

I agree, I use a damp cloth on mine, and occasionally use the leather kit that came with it. It really depends on the type of leather, ours is smooth, but Nubuck uses a different kind of cleaner. I'd just call the store or go the the furniture companys's website, and ask what they recommend.

How about the leather wipes made for car interior? Can you use those on furniture?
