I'm taking the day off...
After all the preparations for Christmas, all the stress, all the wrapping and running around, I have decided to do as little as possible today. The house looks like the toy factory exploded and dropped everything in my house and I still haven't gotten dressed, but I think I deserve the break. I hope everyone can relax a little today and takes the time to enjoy the lull before New Year's.
I'm with you! It's 4:11pm and I just barely got out of the shower....my house also looks like a mall threw up One of my DSs was sick all day yesterday with a temp of 103 (he opened his presents, but just kind of sat there with that glazed-feverish look and didn't really play) He is feeling better today, so I am taking the day off Tomorrow I will try to find homes for all of our new things - Thank God the house was spotless before Christmas happened (no easy feat there!), so at least I can tell myself that it's not dirty, just cluttered with new stuff.....
Yep, we'll join you ladies, Amy and I. I'm in Fort Polk visiting Amy and Mike and my grandDK's. We're just chillin' too. After this past hectic week, we feel we deserve it. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself.
LOL It's almost 4, I haven't even made it into the shower and I have no idea what we are having for dinner. There are toys in every room of my house, laundry that needs to be done, no dishes because we've only been home to drop off toys and sleep. My house was clean before so I know that it isn't dirty but I can't even seem to make a dent! It feels like it will take me a week to get it all back in order!
I couldn't take today off because of church and SS today, but I am taking the week off---quite literally!! I've taken a week of vacation from my clinic job and cancelled my home visits for the week. I am picking one day this next week to stay in my pajamas ALL day. I'm going to lay around, do the bare minimum to keep the house running, and enjoy my husband, my kids, our new Christmas puppy, and our cats. We'll probably get together with some friends for New Year's but otherwise hanging out around home. Can't wait!!!
All of you ladies were so lucky. I had to work at 10:45 and it was a pretty busy Sunday at the clinic, so even though we "close" at 3pm, we didn't get out of there until 5pm! So, no lazy day for me! Not until Friday, do I get to be lazy in the morning!
I was exhausted yesterday, but for once, all four of my kids, plus Madison, were under one roof overnight, so I took advantage of it. I wanted to sleep so badly, though! Now I'm off to work today. :-(
Today is my day off!!! I need a break. Yesterday I had to work and then visit friends so today is break day and I think tomorrow might be to, its my birthday tomorrow so I am thinking about 2 days for me just to relax before New Years.
