Frozen precipitation
Yes, it actually happened for a brief few moments! As I was busy cooking for tomorrow's meal earlier today, I heard this strange sound and looked out my kitchen door and saw sleet falling. There were also a few snowflakes, but it was mostly sleet and it made a distinctive sound hitting the car and gutters. However, the air temp was mid 30's so it melted. We are told that we *might* get more of a *wintery mix* tomorrow, but again, the air temp will be in the mid to high 30's, so nothing will stick. This is the coldest Christmas we have had since 1995, and the last time we had snow was 1989, and that was less than 1". But for New Orleans, that's a lot! LOL
:o) I am happy! It is supposed to snow here in Florida! We had some sleet today. Pray for the snow ladies!!!!! My kids need the boost!
Wow, that is so interesting. The places its not suppose to have that winter weather, you are all having. Here it does snow on occasion(very little)yet there is no snow headed our way, but its VERY cold out there.
you guy`s are so lucky. The big snow storms have missed us entirely .
Kim, Even though my sister lives pretty far south of you (Tampa area) ,she said it`s very very cold.I feel kind of bad for her because she has been there for 4 years now so she has pretty much adjusted to the tropical weather. So she is not liking this at all.I told her to prepare her self because she is flying here the 31st and in Michigan who knows what the weather will bring !
Hey!!! Dallas got snow, Louisiana got sleet... but in the middle? We got nothing but COLD!!! I hate cold without snow... it seems so pointless!
Freezing rain! UGH!!!!!!!!! The cars are totally covered with it. Bummer!!!! With a Capital B!!! I wonder if anyone will make it to my house today? No one here knows how to drive in this stuff.
I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada and though we had one great big snowfall in November, it melted pretty fast and there's been nothing since. Most Christmases here aren't white but few complain because we know January will bring snow sooner or later. There's some frost sparkling on the ground, that'll do.
