Why do we have to clean our house and make it look good for company to come over, when after they leave it's even more of a mess to clean again? I have DH's family coming over tomorrow and I am just going crazy trying to get things nice and in order.

LOL. I busted mine cleaning up for my sons *frat* brothers last weekend that were coming to hunt. It looked nice and smelled nice and they basically cared less.

I've always wondered that Rayanne! I'm such a neat freak that it drives me crazy! My family is coming down on Christmas so i'm not cleaning today and spending half the day tomorrow doing it. I'll watch Rylee for you!!!! I wish! Thats quite a far drive for a babysitter!

Yeah it is...but, I'd take you up on it in a heart beat. I just put all of her toys in her box and 5 minutes later they are everywhere!!!

Last year after dd's 3rd birthday party I vowed to myself that I would not inflict that on me or my family again. I worked for 2 days as hard as I could go cleaning. FIVE minutes after 32 friends and family (9 of which were toddlers) arrived you couldn't tell that it had ever been touched.
I had to work Monday and Tuesday this weekd and dh was off. So I had he and ds clean bathrooms, sweep, mop and vaccuum. There may be a little touchup in the morning but I have promised myself I WILL NOT freak out this time.

I do it every time. DH asks me why I bother. The simple truth is, I LIKE my house to look nice and it's basically about how *I* feel about me and my home. So I bust my butt cleaning before people arrive and as long as it's clean when they get here, I don't worry about what happens while they are here. It's worth it to me.
