Rachel had a sledding accident
She crashed into our truck. Sorry, but my head isn't in the right place at the moment to give more details. She's home now resting...got some staples in her head. We'll be watching her through the night. Make sure your kids wear helmets while sledding.
((((HUGS)))) Let us know how everything is going when you can think more clear. She'll be in my thoughts.
Oh, no. I always worry when the kids are sledding. I'm glad she's home and resting. (((hugs and prayers.)))
Kathy, Hope she is o.k. ,let us know how she is doing, and you also.Try to rest.
Oh no! {{{Kathy}}} Thoughts and prayers coming your way. Please keep us posted. Hope Rachel's recovery goes well.
Hope she's better soon. Ouch!! And yes, I agree about helmets.
Ouch, how's she doing?
{{{hugs}}} I hope she is doing ok tonight. I think that sledding gets overlooked sometimes as a helmet wearing sport. This shows how important it is.
{{{{{Kathy and Rachel}}}}} I hope she's okay. Thanx for the reminder.
Oh, dear, I'm so sorry! I hope she feels better soon.
Oh no!! I hope she is ok!
{{{{{{{{Kathy and Rachel}}}}}}}}}} I hope she's OK now!!! Seems like helmets are necessary for most anything nowadays.
My son: "Helmet (whining) ? But MOM..." Hope she is okay! This will cheer her up! Just make sure to turn up the volume! http://www.qnet.com/~pontius/smile/smilelmp_1[1].htm
Oh no, I hope she is feeling better soon.
That is horrible, I hope she gets better soon, I bet she'll be needing alot of tylenol, hope you're stocked up. (((hugs)))
I hope your dd is ok.
hope she feels better soon!
Oh Dear! How terrible! Good Luck with the healing process, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm so sorry. She's in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks everyone. I think your thoughts and prayers really helped because she slept fine through the night with the exception of us waking her up every few hours or so. Here's what happened. After the girls got home from school, they wanted to go sledding for a bit. It is like that every day. We have our own house now, it is very far from the road and we have some great little hills for sledding. I don't remember what time it was, but I went to call the girls inside. I actually told them "5 more minutes." Of course, 5 minutes turned into 10 minutes. Then my other DD comes running into the house saying Rachel got hurt. So DH and I run outside. I didn't see how it happened, but apparently, Rachel decided to sled backwards and she ended up underneath our parked truck. At first she said she was just dizzy and had a headache, but then we saw the blood in the snow, so we knew it wasn't just a little bump. And then off we went to the nearest urgent care place. Rachel got 6 staples in her head. She also got a tetanus shot. I'm thinking that it could have been alot worse. If she was facing forward when she crashed, she would have the big gash on her face instead of the back of her head. But then again, if she was facing forward, maybe she would have seen where she was going and not crashed at all. If she was wearing a helmet, she wouldn't have hurt her head. If the girls came inside when I asked them to. Alot of "what ifs," but I'm just glad that she is ok. And she no longer is dizzy or has a headache, so that's good too. And no one will be sledding for quite a while.
I am so glad that she is going to be ok!
So sorry she got hurt but Im glad she is ok!
6 staples!!! That was a big cut. Poor kid. Glad she is doing better. ((((Big hugs to her and to you Mom!)))) And yes, helmets are wonderful. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes accidents like this before we think about putting them on. My dh hit his head on a tree while snow skiing about 6 yrs ago and it knocked him out. Since then, we bought everyone helmets for skiing/sledding/tubing. We spent a whole day getting cat scans, etc... on that trip. Very scary!!!
Sounds like something I would have done as a kid. Glad it wasn't worse. More hugs.
Poor thing!! I hope she's feeling better, and I'm glad it wasn't *too* serious. I know it stinks when your child is hurt, so big hugs to you, too!
I'm glad she is going to be okay. That is so scary. It will help her remember to be extra careful sledding from now on. I hope she is feeling well for Christmas day!
glad she's better. Stop worrying about the "what if's?" and just be grateful it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Ame
GLAD to hear she's doing OK! *Phew!*
