By Boxzgrl on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 12:27 pm:

I have a ton of perfume but am looking for a new fragrance. What kinds do you like or own?

So far I have:

Victorias Secret Line:
*Dream Angels:

_*Halo
_*Heavenly

*Rampage
*Pink
*Breathless
*Awakened Fragrances:
_*Whimsy

Ralph Lauren line:
*Polo Sport for Women
*Cool

Christian Dior Line:
*J'Adore

And:
Lolita Lemnicka fragrance.Dh's stepmom gave it to me before she passed away so its for special occasions only.

Any recommendations for fragrances you love?

When I was in college, "Rapture" by Victoria's Secret would get a lot of attention. EVERYONE (including women) asked "what is that?"...they loved it.
We can't really "afford" it now on our new budget...but, I usually ask for it at Christmas/birthday times.

By Tink on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 01:09 pm:

I love Ralph Lauren's Ralph line (this is my favorite). I'm also a big fan of his Lauren Style scent. I just got this, I think it's new but it is such a warm and comfy scent. My other favorite is any of Chanel's scents. Shh...I have been known to steal my dh's Joop. Love it and it's a pretty sweet cologne so it doesn't smell weird on a woman.

By Janet on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 01:22 pm:

I can't wear perfume anymore :( (migranes) So the answer is, soap! LOL

By Happynerdmom on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 01:32 pm:

I only wear one, and have for years...my "signature scent," I guess! It is L'Eau d'Issey by Issey Myaki.

By Truestori on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 01:38 pm:

I like Tresor. My husband is really sensitive to smell and this is one of the only perfumes that has passed the test. LOL :)

By Rayanne on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 01:44 pm:

I have:
Hugo for Women
OUI (WE) by Lancome
Cool Water for Women

Clinique Happy...Love it, Love it, Love it!!!!
I have previously owned Tommy Girl and liked it.

Other than that I usually wear the body sprays from Bath and Body Works. :)

I've been expanding my perfumes as well! I used to stick with one fragrance but now I like to have some to choose from! I like Oscar De La Rente - So, Alfred Sung - Forever. Laugh if you will but the new Tommy fragrance inspired by Beyonce and Brittney Spears pefumes are great! There are 4 BCBGirls by Max Azria, Metro, Sexy, Nature and Star. I have smelled two of them I believe Sexy and Star and loved them both. I'm kind of an odd one though I'm seasonal with my perfumes! I like Elizabeth Ardens Green Tea in the summer its light. Clinique Happy and Happy Heart are awesome as well. Ok well I could go on forever so I'll stop now! (sorry) I've been trying to build my collection for the past 4 months and my mom and I were just out doing this two weeks ago so its fresh in my mind! As a tip don't know what you have in your area but shop the local perfume counters to see what you like then check your local Brand Name close out stores such as TJMAXX, Marshalls or Value City (around here) I get my pefumes there at great deals but there are never testers, sometimes the packaging is damaged but in most cases the boxes are in the same condition as the perfume counters have! Ebays a good idea to save too!

By Boxzgrl on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 01:54 pm:

Pixie, aren't perfumes seasonal anyways? :) I thought Eau De Parfumes and Eau de Toilettes were suppose to be worn certain times of the year. I don't know, I may be confused?

By Trisa on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 01:56 pm:

I like alot of Avon ones.
I also like April Fields,
Loves Baby Soft, White Shoulders
and Sand and Sable

By Pixie on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 02:05 pm:

LOL not sure Boxz, If I like I buy and pick and appropriate season!!

Doesn't say much as far as seasons are concerned but makes sense concerning fragrances are generally lighter in the summer!

By Karen~moderator on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 02:30 pm:

Victoria's Secret Rapture and Heavenly, Paloma Picaso and White Diamonds. I have a couple others but those are the only ones I wear anynmore.

By Sue3 on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 02:39 pm:

I always have Lauren by Ralph Lauren in the burgandy bottle. This is an older fragrance and is sometime`s hard to find.
I have been wearing this since I was 15 years old !
I have requested light blue.I like in love again by LSL.That one is also hard to find.
I also love patcholi.
Sometime`s I mix it with my other fragrances.

By Colette on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 03:18 pm:

I use Lancomes Tresor usually, but I also wear Sandlewood oil, patchouli, juniper breeze (bath and body works), and if I don't get it for Christmas I am buying DKNY Be Delicious and maybe Clinique's Happy.

By Pixie on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 03:30 pm:

Yes DKNY Be Delicious thats the other one I was trying to thing of! I love that stuff! Thanks Colette!

By Trina~moderator on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 04:25 pm:

Many perfumes give me a terrible headache and/or make me nauseous so I have to choose carefully. It's hard to find a scent I like AND that doesn't bother me.

My favorites are Ginger Essence and Fret Not from Origins.

By Conni on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 04:53 pm:

'Heavenly' by Victoria Secret, 'Paris' by Yves Saint Lauren, 'Tresor' by Lancome.

By Bea on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 05:15 pm:

I only wear one scent. I consider it my signature. Jessica by Jessica McClintock.

By Laurazee on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 07:31 pm:

Clean by Dlish, right now. I heard that it smells like soapy clean skin, and it actually does. It's very expensive, but a little goes a long way.

I love perfume! I like scents that are light and fresh-smelling, so I've also got DKNY, Cool Water by Davidoff, and a couple from Benneton's Clean line ("Fresh" & "Soft") that I found at Winners.

My nighttime perfume is Organza by Givenchy. I've had it for years. You can tell I don't get out much!

By Pamt on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 - 07:57 pm:

I've got about 3 different ones, but I wear them so rarely that I don't even know what kind they are. I used to always wear perfume and had a "signature scent" (used to be a big fan of Chanel #5, but haven't had any in years and don't know if I even still like it). I can't wear perfume to work. It's against hospital policy due to allergies and immuno-compromised patients, so I get out of the habit. I do usually wear it on Sunday. I need to find me a new fragrance...maybe after the holidays.

P.S., Never heard of perfumes being seasonal, but perfume vs. toilet water just refers to the strength of the scent. Perfume is much stronger=more expensive=use less, whereas toilet water is watered down perfume and therefore less expensive and not as strong smelling.

By Kernkate on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 - 12:08 am:

I also can only wear one and thats Sweet Honesty from Avon. All others seem too strong and give me a headache.

By Jtsmom on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 - 09:09 am:

I only wear one, Tova! Most perfumes give me a headache too. This is a perfect scent for me.

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 - 09:20 am:

I have some Lauren by Ralph Lauren. I'm not even sure where it is. Hubby is sensitive to some perfumes, so I rarely wear any. Also, I work in a clinic and we aren't supposed to wear heavily scented stuff for the same reason. It's a good thing I rarely think of putting perfume on.

It's not fun when DH gets a bad sneezing attack when he's trying to eat dinner somewhere.

By Kilara21 on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 - 12:08 pm:

Speaking of perfume, how long does the stuff last? I've had a bottle of perfume for at least 5 years now. I haven't really noticed any changes in the scent or whatnot, but should I no longer use it after a certain time?
