So sad!
Today around 5pm I was at the grocery store picking up some potatoes for supper and as I was paying I smiled at the cashier. She says to me, "You are the first person I have seen smile all day." I told her how sad it was that at 5 in the afternoon she saw her first smile. What is our society coming to? No one smiles anymore...and this close to Christmas!
Sad but typical these days sorry to say... I made a point yesterday saying "merry Christmas" and thank you to the cashier at a store who didn't say a thing to me the entire time she checked out my things.
That is just awful. I have noticed how rude some people are. Yesterday, there was an add in the paper for some make-up from ULTA that was really cheap. I asked Chris if we could go pick it up today before they ran out. When we got there, their computers had shut down so it would be about 5 to 10 minutes before they could get them running again. I asked the man at the counter how long they had been down and he said it just happened about 2 minutes ago. There was this lady who was getting angry because she had already paid with her charge card, but had not signed the slip yet, so they could not let her leave. She was yelling and screaming, as if the employees had shut the computers down themselves. I thought that she was just being so rude.
Oh yes people are very rude i work in Layaway and i don't see too many of them thank goodness or i would be crying lol but i've had a few in the last few days = ( ...
That's horrible...the other day we were sitting at a mexican restaraunt..my dd turns and looks at a lady with her 2 boys (young, pre-school age) and the woman looked at dd so rude. I am emotional anyway and it really bothered me and I teared up thinking how rude people are, but there was nothing I could really do.
That is sad. I always smile and chit-chat with cashiers, waiters, etc. I also tell them 'thank you' and 'have a nice day' when I leave. If I encounter one that doesn't smile and acts as if they are unhappy then I still treat them with kindness and respect and hope it helps make them a little happier. I believe that a smile and a kind word can totally change a person's day. It must be hard to put on a cheerful face and act pleasant all day when the majority of people treat you as a non-person.
