Christmas Gift Ideas???
My 22 year old brother is recently recovering from a series of surgeries on his spinal cord...very long story...but, he can't walk very well. He is also pretty broke and would like to give a gift for his girlfriend that is REALLY inexpensive but thoughtful. Any ideas?
First of all, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. That is awful. For gift ideas - How about some cute gloves and a matching scarf, a nice smelling candle, bath & body works product - (something small from there is inexpensive, but nice.) gift card, or a neat basket with small misc. items? I would like any of those things, so I bet she would too. Good luck.
How about some popcorn and candies...they can eat them while watching a movie together? Just a nice, inexpensive ornament. She will think of him every time she sees it. Target and Walmart have nice inexpensive jewelry...pair if earrings, or a necklace for under $10. I hope your brother recovers well and quickly.
Thanks, April...he is recovering but it's been a long past couple of years. He's had spinal cord surgery, brain surgery, massive dental replacement with more surgery, and now he has to have surgery on his plantar's wart. I just feel so bad for the guy! Thanks for those ideas...gloves and a scarf...very cute!
Thanks too, Patti...we must have been posting at the same time! :-)
Bellajoe...your ornament idea made me think of a Snoopy ornament I got from my first "real" boyfriend (over 25 years ago!) that I still put on my tree! LOL My dds and I were decorating Monday, and I told them where Snoopy had come from..my 14 yr old was incredulous (Probably because I'd had a boyfriend). But I love my Snoopy!
Check at JCPenney. We bought quite a few necklaces that are regular $40.00 for just $15.00 a piece! They are beautiful. I think they are having a big "door buster" sale tomorrow so there is a good chance that things will be market down again.
Just a side note, we bought those necklaces just this past Saturday.
What about researching some love poems that have a thank you (thanks for sticking by me, supporting me)?. Buy some nice paper and print one out with a fancy font. Roll it into a scroll, tie it with ribbon and attach a nice ornament (an angel?). I'd look for the ornament in an upscale gift shop or craft store as they can have beautiful and original ornaments she'll treasure for $10 or $15 dollars.
Thanks so much for all your ideas!
