These are fun!
See if you can figure these Christmas song brain teasers out. A friend sent me them. I think I have them all except numbers 2,5,12 and 21. Enjoy! 1. Decorate the entryways. 2. Stepping on the pad cover. 3. The red suited pa is due on this burg. 4. Cup-shaped sounding instruments fashioned of white metallic element. 5. The apartment of two psychiatrists. 6. The lad is a diminutive percussionist. 7. Sir Lancelot with laryngitis. 8. Far back in the hay bin. 9. Tiny, little – Alan, Kong, and Nat Cole. 10. Our fervent hope is that you thoroughly enjoy the yuletide season. 14. Small Israeli urban center. 15. Listen, the winged heavenly messengers are proclaiming tunefully. 16. Pam- I think you are right about #2. Dh figured that out last night. I think you got 12 too! Why did you say O holy night for 21? (I still can't get that one!) Rayanne- Check #4 again! HELP with #5 (My friend will NOT tell me!)
Okay, drum roll please......number five is..... THE NUTCRACKER SUITE!!!! I can't take any credit for this, though. I passed it off to my incredibly smart friend who managed to get all of them, as I knew she would.
OMG! TOTALLY! Thanks!
She also explains number 21--it is a knight full of holes from machine guns, hence 'O Holy Night'. From the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary: One entry found for strafe. Main Entry: strafe Pronunciation: 'strAf, esp British 'sträf Function: transitive verb Inflected Form(s): strafed; straf·ing Etymology: German Gott strafe England God punish England, German propaganda slogan during World War I : to rake (as ground troops) with fire at close range and especially with machine-gun fire from low-flying aircraft
AHHH! DH and I were trying to think of someone who was wounded in the legend!
Ok- What about 18? My friend told me I was wrong....

O Holy Night 22. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus 23. All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth 24. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Kate, thanks for the "Nutcracker Suite"---that was driving me crazy. I was thinking "2 shrinks in a flat" and along those lines coming up with euphemisms for psychiatrist and apartment. And, yep that was my rationale for "O Holy Night." I had to go to m-w.com to look up strafe as well---LOL. At least I'll be able to sleep better tonight
Pam- It's been keeping me up, too! Kate- I have different answers for 7, 16 and 24. 7. Good King Wenceslas 16. The First Noel 24. Silent Night And what in the world is Carol of the Bells? of Ring the Bells?
Ok- My mom convinced me 7 is Silent Night.... I guess that makes 24 wrong too.
