Rescuing Hug
Rescuing Hug This is a picture from an article called, "The Rescuing Hug." The article details the first week of life of a set of twins. Apparently, each were in their respective incubators, and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought against the hospital rules and placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together, the healthier of the two threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby's heart rate stabilized and her temperature rose to normal. They both survived, and are thriving! In fact, now that the two girls are home, they still sleep together, and still snuggle. The hospital changed their policy after they saw the effect of putting the two girls together, and now they bed multiples together.
That is so sweet. My girls slept in the same crib til they were about 3 months.
I love that story! It's a true story, too. Rescue Hug I remember reading about it in Reader's Digest.
That is really neat! I hope other babies are helped by this woman's idea. What a great story!
That`s a nice story Thanks for sharing.
This has been circulating the Net for several years. These twins were born in 1995. I'm curious as to how they're doing NOW. Does anyone know?
That would make them almost 10 years old now! It is really a neat story. This is the first time I've seen it. Thanks for sharing
1st time I've seen it too, thanks for sharing, that is really a wonderful story.
What a sweet story! It's the first time I have seen it too.
Oh, that is so sweet. It brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet. I know that now "kangaroo care" is a big thing with preemies. This is when the mom puts the baby snuggled up against her bare chest and covered up in blankets. The smell, body heat, and heartrate of mom seem to stabilize medically fragile babies. Very cool stuff!
