Question for those with date-imprinting cameras

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2004: Question for those with date-imprinting cameras
By Janet on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 - 09:37 pm:

I'm looking for a new 35mm camera, and it seems like they all have the date-imprinting feature, but I don't want it! Can you turn it off? Or is it just a thing I'll have to deal with? My dh thinks it's neat, but I hate having photos with the date on the front.

In all the date-imprinting cameras I have owned, you have been able to turn it off. I never have, personally. That's one of my favorite features. :) But yes, you should be able to.

Last year dh got me an Olympus Infinity Zoom (35mm) camera. I read the directions very carefully so that I could set the date, and yes, you can turn it off, and you can also decide how you want the date to appear on the pic- mm/dd/yy or dd/mm/yy or just the year, and you can have the time appear on the pic also.

I would really like to get a digital camera, but for a GOOD one, you're looking at around $300.

We have a Canon A75 digital camera that is 3.2 megapixels and takes pretty decent pics. It was $249 when we bought it, but since then the price has come down. (figures, huh?)

Yes you can usually turn it off and i do because when it prints on the pics it is usually red or orange i think and it takes away from the pic in my opinion..If it could go in black or something on the back of the pic that would be great = ) i will do without though since it doesn't ...

Brandy, I agree! The back would be so much better! I dropped my beloved camera this summer, and although it still takes pics, I think I need a new one. I would LOVE to get a "real" 35 mm, but a small one is more practical for every day. Thanks for your help! :)
