Last day of Hurricane season 2004
YEAH!!! Today is the last day of hurricane season for us. THANK GOD!! We survived 3 hurricanes with very little damage. We still see alot of blue roofs but slowly they are starting to go away. The trash is mostly gone and life is getting back to normal but I dont think we will be looking at hurricane season the same next year. We will start early with the supplies.. God do we HATE the lines to buy gas for the cars and the generators! We will be better prepared. I NEVER thought in a million years one would EVER come close to us. I look at this as a wakeup call. We will be prepare next June!!
Thank you God. We survived Ivan in Alabama and I don't ever want to do it again. No power for a week, seeing people stand in line for meals. Our town is still cleaning up 2 months later.
I can't even imagine. I grew up with tornados, but have never experienced an huricane or an earthquake. Florida is on our list of possible places to move to next summer. I gotta tell ya, the huricane thing scares the heck out of me! We have a friend in southern Florida that ended up buying a generator after this season (he's only lived there a few years). He said the week without power wreaked havoc on his pool! Dh was amazed our friend's boat didn't have damage to it since he didn't dry dock it. I hope that's it for huricanes for quite some time.
I'll stay here in WI, thank you. That hurricane thing scares me to death! Yikes! Up here, the tomatoes are in short supply because of the hurricanes! The kids can't get their favorite pizza at our favorite Italian restaurant, at the moment, since it has fresh tomatoes and fresh basil added after the crust is baked. (yummy!) So, in a minor way, we have been affected by the hurricanes, too. There are signs everywhere about the tomato situation! LOL!
We have signs everywhere about the tomato shortage, too. I can't imagine living through one hurricane, much less three. I think I'll stick with the occassional earthquake, thank you very much!
Thank Goodness!!!! I had enough of them here in Florida. Hopefully next year will be smooth sailing for us. I don't think I could take it again if we got as many as we did. I might consider moving to another state...maybe Virginia or Georgia. TYhose are my dream places to live.
I agree Thank Goodness! However, I have to say, I have lived her all my life (40+ yrs) and this was the first time I had any real experience with a hurricane.
