Epson Picturemate
I purchased this tonight it's about the same price for 4x6 as if you would take your memory card to the store ie:walmart, meijer, walgreens = ) i think it's a neat little thing of course it only does 4x6 and it prints out the index cards if you want it to.For someone who's into taking pics as much as i am this is awesome = ) my mom was just saying the other day she never get's pictures anymore so i'm going to print her out a bunch and give them to her = )
also it will turn your pictures into black and white if needed too it said put a date on the photo and i'm sure much more but i'm tired lol so i put it up already = )
bumping up = )
I am not sure what this Brandy. I will have to go look it up on the internet and check it out.
I just saw an ad for this in my newest issue of Family Fun magazine. It looks really neat. Let me know what you think after you've gotten to play around with it.
Conni it's a tiny printer to where if you have a digital camera you put the cards in the printer and it prints out you pictures for you.. = ) Tink i've already tried it out it worked great i'm satisfied so far with it = )
Just a thought on this. How long do computer printed pictures last? All the ones I have done and seen fade after time. I think my cousin's pirnter is one of those kodak easy share things and I got photos of her infant last christmas and they are now no where close to the same quality. Anyway I would have a back up plan for photos too I am pretty avid into scrapbooking for the purpose of preserving photos. I guess if they fade you can always reprint. Just rambling
I keep all of my pictures on a disc for my back up. You can always take that to the store and have them put onto "real" photo paper that won't fade.
This is what I've asked "Santa" to bring me for Christmas,I am really big into photography, too. Is it pretty simple to use?
Yes really simple it comes with i think 20 sheets of paper and an ink cartridge to accomodate the 20 sheets = ) Then for about $30 you can get the paper and ink cartridge so it equals out to about 29 cents per print the same as anywhere else = )
How clear are the pictures? Are they the quality of the photo stores or are the photo stores better? About how much was it, if you don't me asking.
Something to keep in mind with photo printers - for best results, you might have to use the same brand photo paper as the printer. I have a Canon i960, which makes photo store quality prints. The instructions said that you may get best results with Canon paper, and they were right - I had 3 other types on hand, so I experimented...Kodak, Epson, and Office Depot...and the color was off on most, and they looked horrible. The Canon paper produced perfect prints. I can't complain at all about the Canon I have, but I thought I'd warn you about the paper usage. I think it has to do with ink/paper compatibility.
Kay on this one you have to buy the epson paper and cartridge because they are sold together for $30 for 100 pieces of photo paper and 1 cartridge that's able to do 100 pictures = ) the pictures on mine have been really clear.Rayanne It was $200 but then i got my 10% discount and 15% that day if i put it on my credit card so i would of paid..$230+ tax for the printer and paper and i ended up paying $186 something with taxes included = )
I also have an hp printer for my computer at home and even on Kodak paper it does have good quality photos that i print = )
How long do computer generated prints last? It depends. Air, light, heat and humdity all cause the prints to fade. So, for best longevity keep them sealed in an air tight container in the dark.. lol. Epson recently came out with "Archive" inks that supposedly will last decades. No ink jet print will last as long as an ordinary color photograph which can last over 50 years. If you really want your digital prints to last use a photo print service which prints them to photographic paper (such as Ofoto, Shutterfly or Snapfish) http://www.momsview.com/ofoto.shtml http://www.momsview.com/snapfish.shtml http://www.momsview.com/shutterfly.shtml
