Anyone exhausted after Thanksgiving.....
I am wiped out.
I don't think it was Thanksgiving that did me in. I think it was shopping yesterday. I'm so tired and I am loosing my voice, the kids think its funny.
absolutely. I took a 2 hour nap yesterday.
No. I cheated this year. I was so sick for the last month or so, that I decided not to cook. I ordered my turkey dinner from a local store. It was great and all I had to do was heat it up. It was just our family, so I am sure that made it easier. We have just been relaxing and we put up our Christmas decorations yesterday. We are going to the movies today and then out to eat. Definitely, one of our best Thanksgivings ever.
Oh Debbie that sounds wonderful!! I am not too tired really. I have to say this was certainly a different type of Thanksgiving for us too. We never get to stay home on Thanksgiving (except that yr dh had surgery on his foot the week of Thanksgiving). This yr we got to STAY HOME and it was wonderful! The kids were thrilled --especially Bradley since his birthday was on Wednesday. I cooked my first turkey and it turned out great! I really enjoyed this yr. We had my parents over and Grandad, bil and his friend. Small group they didnt stay too long really and afterwards we just relaxed and watched a movie. No traveling involved and I actually got to cook the whole meal. I enjoyed it! Wouldnt want to do it every yr-- but I will want to do this again for sure! Dh has been off work all week and we have really gotten alot done! Yesterday morning Brad and I went shopping *alone*--he had birthday money burning a hole in his little pocket. My Mom came back over and helped me move the kids bedroom's around upstairs. (they are all changing bdrms). Helped me clean a little and organze and then had leftovers with us for dinner. I started getting the christmas decor out and will continue working on that this afternoon... The kids asked to go see The Polar Express so we may do that late this afternoon or tomorrow. Have a good day everyone!
Conni - I loved reading your post. I made my first Thanksgiving dinner in 2001 - the first year of my marriage - and I *loved* it! We've traveled to visit family since then, but next year I plan on staying home and preparing the whole meal myself again! I'm so glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. It sounds like you are in good holiday spirits. Don't you just love this time of year???
Me, ME! I'm wiped out. We just got back from visiting my parents in VA last night. The drive down on Wednesday was not a picnic. Heavy traffic, rain and fog most of the way. What normally takes us 8 hrs. took us 11. ARGH! I'm SO glad we came home yesterday and didn't wait until today. The weather was good yesterday and traffic was fairly light. It's pouring rain today and I'm sure lots of people are returning from their Thanksgiving travels. I wanted to chill out and recoup today but DD insisted we put the Christmas tree and decorations up. Then I had to go grocery shopping and am trying to conquer Mt. Laundry. I'm pooped! LOL! Thank goodness we're NOT traveling for Christmas!
I am, but it's a good tired. We got back last night after being up North since Wednesday. Last night we went to a football game and sat in the rain and then drove home. It was fun, but I am tired. I know my DH is tired of driving too!
