New! Improved! Bah - humbug!
I have used a product for years - a liquid smoke product - and it always came with a shaker cap, so you could sprinkle the liquid on the meat. I got some last week, and the "new" bottle doesn't have the shaker cap. Which I didn't find out until I started to shake it. I have written to the manufacturer and told them "I want my shaker cap!" Share your stories of frustration with "new" "improved" products.
Lea & Perrins Sweet N' Spicy steak sauce. They changed their recipe about 1 1/2 years ago. Come on, people! Bring the old recipe back! And yes, I called the company and told them that!
I've got a dumb one: I loved a certain mascara that just lengthened my lashes. Not curled, not thickened - just made 'em longer. A year or so ago, they stopped making it. I asked for the equivalent product at the drugstore and they gave me some "curl'n'long" type mascara by the same manufacturer and said this was the replacement. I tried it: it doesn't work as well. I have been the hunt for a new product ever since.
For a while I was using a foundation by Oil of Olay. It was perfect - perfect color, perfect consistency - my skin looked sooo good when I wore it. They stopped making it sudddenly. I wrote the company and asked why and they said since they own, or are owned by Cover Girl, they saw no reason to market 2 different makeups and *invited* me to use Cover Girl. I HATE Cover Girl - hate the way it smells, hate the way it feels, it's in NO way the same stuff. I told them *if it ain't broke, don't fix it*! LOL
VO5 used to make a vanilla-scented shampoo. They stopped making it and I miss it! Darn! Haven't called the company yet. Should, though.
Karen, I had a similar experience with Sassoon. They had a real nice hairspray, low cost. Then they went up-market - same hairspray, costs 3 times as much, and the spray hole jams a lot.
I used to use an unscented hairspray..can't recall the brand..and they "new and improved" it, and added fragrance, even though it still said unscented! I called the company, and they explained it was a "masking fragrance," not a fragrance, per se. I told her I was extremely sensitive to fragrance, and something like that triggered migraines, and I would no longer be using their product. She didn't seem to care. Took me ages to find another unscented hairspray I could tolerate! They always mess around with a good thing, don't they! *grrrr*
