LOL This is too funny! Our new kitten, Maggi, may be a Max! We don't know for sure yet, but things are starting to look rather suspicious in the nether regions. My dds are upset, because they want a girl, but there's just not a lot we can do about it...
I've decided if she is a boy, her full name will be "Maximus Kittimus!"
And after all the time and sweat we put into choosing her (erm, his) name...some kind of gratitude! LOL

It happens. We ended up with two kitties my senior year of high school, both we thought were little girls and BOTH ended up being little boys! lol They even fooled my dad, who should have known better (he had lots of experience with animals). So we had boy kitties named JoJo and Wednesday (after the Adam's family). So you're not alone.

LOL, it happened to us when I was a kid as well. Our Chelsea turned out to be a boy and our Winston (easily changed to "Winnie") was a girl.

Boy or girl, be sure to have your kitten neutered. For females, you just really don't want to be raising litters of kittens. For males, once they mature they spray and it smells really bad. You should check with your vet but I'd definitely have it done somewhere before age 6 months.

We call her "Mags" right now anyway, so it wouldn't be a long shot to change it to "Max." It's just that it took us DAYS to agree on a name, and I don't like "Max!" LOL Colette, I'll go check out the website. And Ginny, not to worry. I'm a firm believer in neutering/spaying, so it'll be done, regardless. She/he's an indoor kitty, but they tend to get out once in awhile!

OK, just looked at the drawings, Colette..Maggi's not at work with me, so I can't compare, but I'd say her hind end looks more like the female drawing. I think I'll print it off and take it home for an inspection at lunch (if she'll let me!)...I'll need to stand by the copy machine so no one grabs it and announces, "Whose cat butt drawing is this?" LOL
