Dh and I have been invited to a Christmas party "Mardi Gras style". On the invitation it says Dress "Mardi Gras casual". What in the world is that? I have masks that I bought for a Mardi Gras party a few years ago but what clothing do I wear? HELP!!!!!!!!!

I don't have any great ideas but I would say nice pants and top, maybe in a jewel tone, with a bunch of beaded necklaces around your neck and one of the masks. I'm sure one of our Louisiana ladies has a clearer idea, though.

Mardi Gras casual, IMO could either mean dressing in costume, or just masking and wearing beads. Believe it or not, living in New Orleans as long as I have, I've never heard that expression! But I really do *think* it probably means a mask and beads.
