My dh and I used to always say that the people that work at our BMV had to pass a mean and uncaring test before they could work there. These women are so hatefull and cold in our opinion. UNTIL yesterday!! I posted the other day about my dh's license being broke in half and they would'nt take it because it is concidered void..that is fine I understand. He would have to show birth certificate to get another. The thing was we lost his certificate and he was born in another state and they wanted $17 dollars plus 8-10 weeks until a certificate would arrive through the mail. This is the part I did'nt like. Well, I called the BMV yesterday to see if they would take a marrige license in place of the birth record. The lady on the phone said that it all depends on who you see when you come in. She gave me her name and said that she would take care of us. We went in later and she put her finger to her lips and gave us the hush signal. She issued my dh another license!! I was so thankful and told her she was the best!
My thoughts about the women at the BMV has changed completely.

While I am happy for you that you got what you needed, it does some what alarm me that they do not follow their own rules. There are reasons that there are rules and while it stinks for the honest person, it is what is supposed to be keeping the "bad" people from being able to get fake ID's and steal peoples identities and even terrorists from getting fake id's etc. Don't get me wrong, as I said, I know that rules and policies stink for the honest person, but that is not who the rules are in place to weed out!!

Yes, Vicki I agree that this rule breaking could enable someone who might have bad motives. The odd thing is my dh swears that this is the same lady that told him no last month when we came in the first time.
