I didn't get to vote
I didn't get to vote because I was sick. Monday night I felt like I got hit by a Mack truck. I was so achy. Yesterday I spent the whole day on the couch. Luckily, it seems to have passed and I am much better today. The funny thing is as soon as I started feeling sick, my first thought was "oh no, I'm not going to get to vote."
OH I hope you start feeling better. I know that feeling. Four years ago I was in South Carolina with my dying Daddy and didn't get to vote. Be well.
Glad to hear you're feeling better. Bummer about not being able to vote.
At least you are feeling better today. I had something like that last week.
DH didn't get to vote either because for some reason they have no record of him registering to vote! I guess thats what we get for DH registering at the fair. I also had a friend who gave me the "I didnt have time" excuse. I just kept quiet so I didnt say the wrong thing.
Melissa, my mom wasn't in the book either, but still got to vote. I guess that's one of the advantages of living in a small town. She said they told her she was the 20th person that wasn't listed this year. There must have been a glitch somewhere. Funny, though, my sil was in the book, and she's not even an American citizen. She's from Germany! We still haven't figured out how that happened. Fraggle, I'm sorry you didn't get to vote. I hope you're feeling better today. Hugs!
Fraggle I am sorry you didn't get a chance to vote! Cat that is weird your sil was in the book but your Mom wasn't.
There was a 1800 number you were supposed to call if your registration was not accepted, or you were missing from the books. Either way, it's all done with now. I hope you are feeling better Meredith!!!!
I'm sorry you didn't get to vote, but at least you are feeling better and that is what is most important.
Sorry for whining about it guys. My dh has the worst bedside manner ever, so he has been making me feel terrible about being sick. Melissa, that is too bad about your dh. My dh voted absentee last week. In Maine you don't need a reason to vote absentee, so a lot of people voted early. He said when he went last week there were actually booths all set up at the town hall and they were handing out candy and voting stickers.
Well I found out how my sil got registered. When she got her Michigan driver's license they asked her if she wanted to register. They didn't bother asking if she was a US citizen! Something's wrong with the system there.
In 1996 I never got to vote b/c my ds was born on election morning at 9:40. I went in at 3:30 AM. He was two weeks early, so it never occurred to me to get an absentee ballot. Didn't much matter- Michigan always goes Democrat anyway.
