New kitten...can you believe it?
God has a sense of humor! After last week's trauma of putting our cat, Pretzel, to sleep, and all the grief that went with it, God put a little kitten into our lives. I hadn't told anyone, but had decided that I wasn't going to go looking for one, but if one came to us, we'd take it. My dh came home on the very same day Pretzel died and said that a co-worker had found a kitten in the middle of a country road, waiting to get run over, and picked it up. Did we want it? So after wrestling with the idea for a couple of days, we all went "to just look," and ended up coming home with a little bitty gray tiger kitten that is SO affectionate! She is just adorable! We've named her Maggi. I am still sad over Pretzel, but love heals a broken heart, I believe.
That's wonderful! I haven't ever been able to "just look" at a kitten without taking it home. I'm so glad that you have someone to love!
AAWWwwww. She sounds adorable! I love little grey kitties!
Wow! I got goose bumps reading this because I got a *feeling* Pretzel had something to do with the arrival of your new fur baby. A win-win situation. Maggi has been blessed with a loving a family and Pretzel knew it would lessen her human family's grief.
Awwww,that is so sweet!
Ohhhh... that is so wonderful!!!! Nothing can replace Pretzel, but there's nothing like a kitten!!! Especially one that needed you as much as you probably need her!!!!! My Cosmo was found close to death, and, I really feel like he KNOWS we saved him and is THE most devoted companion!!! Wonderful news!!!
Janet, I know just what you mean. Scott went to the local SPCA to take the leftover dog food after his/our traumatic loss of Keyla, and fell in love with Sascha, a 100+ pound female Rottweiler, who became a major part of our lives very quickly. Nothing replaces Keyla, but Sascha has her own (very big) place in his (and my) heart.
I went home for lunch and she was sitting at the door, waiting for me! What a little sweetie... *sigh*
Yeap. We put Honey to sleep on March 5th and got Jasmine on April 24th. DH wanted a little time to grieve over Honey before we got another dog again. Kids and I kept visiting the shelter during that time, though! LOL!
How sweet, I am sure this will help you all heal a little faster, sorry for your loss but I am glad you have found a new "friend".
