she's 6 weeks early but she weighed 5 pounds 4 oz. and she is 18 1/2 inches long her name is Daisy = ) she's a cutie and i will check with my cousin to see if i can share her picture with everyone...

Jessica was that small (full term). She wore premature baby clothes for a while. Addison was 6 pounds. If they were any bigger, it would have been a C section for me.

But I remember how extra careful I was with him - he was definitely smaller than my first two. I would only bathe him on a towel, not a tub, for the first three months.

I was born three days before my due date and was 5lbs 1/2oz. My mom and I left the hospital the same day and I didn't have any health problems relating to low birth weight. The preemie clothes I wore were SO tiny!

Daisy is a cute name. We have two students in my preschool with that name and they are both sweet as can be. Congratulations!!

My sisters friend's wife had a baby a few days ago. Apparently the daddy was like 3 pounds at birth, they were not sure he would make it. The wife is tiny too, the baby was 9 pounds!

My DD's friend was telling me just the other day about how she came 6 weeks early and stayed in the hospital for a week. I think she was under 5 pounds. She's 20 years old now and doing fine.

I hope you get to hold Daisy soon.

My dd was born at term and was 5.1. My ds was born 7 weeks early (but stopped growing at 31 weeks due to IUGR) and was 5.4. The only thing he had problems with was his breathing. They told me he'd be in the NICU at least a month, but ended up coming home after only 8 days in there! He, too, was constantly trying to pull out his tubes! I just bet Daisy will be out in no time, too!

I'm not worried about holding daisy i'm wanting her momma to...i think it would benefit her greatly if she would be able to be held how could it not be? i asked about kangaroo care and the nurse told me that it wouldn't really benefit daisy because she was too many weeks gestation? come on now any time your next to your mother/father is beneficial...
