More drama!
I'm not trying to be a board hog today...really, I'm not! Someone shot an intruder in their home last night, just three blocks from me, and killed him! We live in such a small, sleepy town...most of us don't even lock our doors at night! How scary is this! Chalk one up for owning a gun (although I hate the things, personally)...I hate to think what would've happened if they hadn't been armed...they had a small son! The bad guy actually took a plastic slide from the child's playset in the yard and rammed it through the window to get into the house. Bold as anything! Sheesh! Well, at least we don't have to worry about him breaking into any more homes, right?
HOLY SMOKES!!! Wow that would give me the nervous nellies.
OMG! That's awful!!!!!! Start locking your door at night!
We have a theory on guns... and Nate has only had to draw one once. Nothing stops an intruder in their tracks like the sound of a gun cocking. Better to have one and never need it than need it and not have it!! JMHO!!!
OMG, Crystal! We finally disagree on something. Janet, we have to lock doors around here but I would still be upset by something like that happening so close to my home.
I guess it was a random break-in, according to authorities, and the guy was either drunk and/or on drugs. And, by Illinois law, a homeowner is justified in shooting an intruder who enters in a violent manner, like this one did. So he won't be charged with anything. Still, I can't imagine the shock of killing someone.
LOL, Cori!!! It is usually a culture thing. I grew up in a farm town, and my dad is a police officer. Having a weapon in natural to us. Gun safety is top priority, and we actually don't have one right now, because Nate's ex-wife kept his. But hey, it was bound to happen, we can't agree on EVERYTHING!!!
I love you anyway, Crys!
