Had surgery on Wednesday...
Ugh!!! I am still soooo sore from my endometriosis surgery Wednesday. I had a LOT of cysts on both ovaries, some endometrial, some not. Had a rather large one on my left ovary. Bad news is, the endometriosis is so deeply embedded in the other tissues that you can't even see some of it. So there is no way of cutting, lasering, or burning it all out. My dr. wants to start me on injections that you take monthly to put me into menopause because that is the only way of stopping the growth of the endo. I have a really difficult time with medications, and cannot tolerate any birth control methods, so I can't control it that way. I really hate the idea of chemically putting my body into menopause. Especially when I am through with childbirth, and eventually I am going to have to have a hysterectomy anyhow. I think that I am just going to see how things go for a while, and then if I start having severe problems with it again, just go for the hysterectomy and not deal with the injections. I don't know yet. I have time to figure it out though. But I am sooooo sore still from the surgery. She did quite a bit of work, and the anesthesia always makes me sick, so I threw up three times after waking, and that didn't help me with the pain! But, hopefully this will give me some relief for a little while, with the cysts being removed from my ovaries. Maybe I'll be able to make it through each month easier.
Adena, I hope you start feeling better soon! I just want to mention, I had endometriosis pretty bad and when I had my hysterectomy, there was endo left afterwards. I had to go off of all female hormones and on male hormones for several months to kill it off. If yours is that bad, you may have to do something similar whenever you have a hysterectomy. I'm not saying this to make you worry about it now, I'm just trying to give you some information. Take care of yourself right now!!
I'm sorry you aer so sore! So you are done having kids? I recently had a hysterectomy and I am so glad they did not take my ovaries! I dread the thought of induced menopause! It cured my pain though and I feel so much better not having my period. I hope you feel better soon and hope things are better so you can put that off for a while. You are too young!
{{{{{Adena}}}}} Take it easy and I hope you're feeling better soon.
{{{Adena}}} Hope you are feeling better real soon
{{{Adena}}} Definitely take it easy for a while. Feel better!!!
(((((Adena))))) I hope you start feeling better soon!
How are you feeling today?
Hey guys! Thanks for all the well wishes! I am not as sore anymore, but still sore on one side where they did more work. I am really light-headed, though, and that is worrying me, although I haven't told anyone, because this is the exact feeling I had after my gall bladder surgery three and a half years ago that started my three year downhill sickness. I am really hoping this just goes away. I think I have decided against the shots that would chemically put me into menopause. I am ultra-sensitive to medications, so that really worries me. But I have time to decide, so I am not going to think about it too much right now. Thanks Karen for the info you gave me. That's more than likely what I am going to have to do since it will be impossible to cut or burn it all out. Well, I need to go stretch out and rest my abdomen muscles!!!
