I can't imagine a teacher behaving like that! If I were that mom, I'd be at the school board with an attorney.

I loved the letter that principal sent home assuring the parents that their children were involved in appropriate activities during the rest of the school day. I often wonder if the shcools ideas of appropriate and mine are even close to being the same. I just had a discussion with my middle schoolers principal this week regarding an inappropriate sign that a student had made for their American Government class. This sign was on the proposed Amendment Change regarding Natural Born Presidents. The sign had a photo of a caucasian child with the words. Vote Yes for Natural Born Presidents Keep Foreigners and their ideas out of our governement. My daughter is included in that "Foreigner" category as she is a naturalized citizen. The principal tried telling me it was a political statement and had every right to be there. WHAT????? It absolutely is NOT ok for a sign to be hanging at a middle school that says to a group of students or even just one student that they are not wanted. In the end she is having the student re-do the sign so that it is not offensive (to me) as she still does not find it offensive.
