I couldn't talk about this before
I started a post about 3 or 4 times to talk about a very serious issue I had. I couldn't even finish them because it was so frustrating. My dh is from Utah and we lived there for about five years. I wanted to move home to AL because the economy here is such that we make more money and the cost of living is less. He has been on a kick lately wanting to move back to Utah. He has been on Monster jobs constantly. I was trying to make myself respect his wishes and try to make it so that we could move (if it worked out that way) without disrupting our finances, etc. A 2,000 mile move of a household of furniture, 2 kids, and 2 pets is dreadful aside from all the other stresses of moving. Let me point out that I LOVE my hometown and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job. The thought of moving was just sickening to me. I did, however, find something on Monster jobs and actually scheduled an interview last week. I flew out to Utah and interviewed, stayed with my mother-in-law for a couple of days, and they came back with me to vacation in Florida. The interview went well, and I could have the job if I chose to accept it. After dh spent almost a week with his stepdad (who offered him a job running his trophy business) he changed his mind. He realized that we have a great set up here and he also remembered how obnoxious his stepdad is. He is a braggart and loves to throw his money around, while reminding you how great he is. Also, dh is excelling at work and they are constantly paying for his continuing education. College and specialized training. You can't beat that! Anyway, I am so glad they came and reminded dh that he really isn't missing out on much except seeing his sisters and mom.
I'm glad that things are starting to look up for you! Where did you live when you were in Utah? I'm right in the middle, near Richfield
Congratulations! I am happy for you! And DH is fortunate to have such a loving wife that was willing to follow him.
We lived in South Jordan, which I am sure you know is essentially Salt Lake but south of the city.
What a happy ending! And how incredible you are to be so supportive. You deserve a pat on the back.
I am glad things worked out for you.
