Today I was in a car accident....nothing serious...but could have been. DH is away on a course for work. He NEVER leaves his cell phone on and the place where he is staying is like a dorm type place. He didn't leave any contact numbers. I've left a TON of messages on his cell..the last one wasn't very nice. Anyway, I'm just venting but my point is that I could have been seriously hurt or killed today and I wouldn't have been able to get in touch with him. Well, if I was killed I wouldn't be getting in touch with anyone, would I??

The accident happened on my way to work. I hit black ice and spun in a circle at least once. I could see that we were heading in the direction of a pole and that there was nothing I could do. Luckily, God was there today. I went in the other lane, turned at least once and then went off the road and missed the pole by about a foot and a half.

And...I couldn't contact DH.

I completely agree with you - particularly when you're a parent, you *always* need to be accessible in an emergency.

I'm sure he wouldn't want to be without access to you- so yeah, that's just not right! I'd be in a panic to talk with him! At least tell him- that you had a close call and don't ever want to be in that position again- without anyway of reaching him. THANK GOD YOU ARE OKAY!

Your post could have easily been posted by me, this is a constant sore spot with me. Why have a cell phone if you aren't going to have it on? Why even have a phone? We go through this ALL the time, nothing thankfully as serious as a accident.

Anyways, just know you're not alone in this one. I hope you are able to get a hold of him and I'm glad you weren't hurt.

I hit a patch of it last year on my way to dd`s swim meet.
I was so scared ! I just kept sliding and sliding.My heart didn`t stop beating fast for 20 min. !

Your dh is in the dog house though.
He sounds like my dh.He used to go away A LOT for his work.One time he was in Novia Scotia for 3 weeks and I fell in our garden,I thought I broke something.
It was just a mild sprain though.I remember I was fruious.I could not get a hold of him !

DH now has 2 cellphones, since he just got one through work. So, now, he has a myriad of ways to get a hold of him and I still end up on voice mail on the cell! Argh!

Oh my...I'm glad you are o.k. My dh was the same way with his cell phone. I used to threaten him that I was going to shut off the service if he didn't answer the darn thing.
