Medical question?
Last week I started having this burning sensation in my one leg. It's like in the front/top part of my leg. It's just feels like my leg is real warm but, when I feel the outer part of my leg it feels cool and it's not red or no spots or anything on it. It's kinda like the feeling of something warm and wet has been poured on it. Should I be concerned and has anyone had this feeling?
Not to scare you, but sometimes that's a symptom of a blood clot. It's also a symptom of infection, or, depending on where the burning is, a symptom of a pinched nerve. However, if the skin is actually warmer there, it's not likely a pinched nerve. It could also be none of the above - but those a few things that *could* be a symptom of. Is the skin red????
Barb, Have you already gone through menopause? I have read that this can have an affect on your legs. Hope you feel better soon.
I would consult your doctor, just to be safe.
I'd see your doctor. Hot spots like that are a symptom of diabetes also.
IN a word, yes. Call your doc, this may be nothing, but it could be very serious.
Go to your doctor, as quickly as possible. In the meantime, on the off chance it is a blood clot, ask your doctor about taking aspirin, which is a blood thinner.
Also if just to be safe DON'T RUB your leg. My brother has been on blood thinners since June, if you rub it can make the clot move.
No,I haven't gone through menapause and I think Im having signs of it but, my doctor keeps saying Im to young( 40 the end of Dec). I was thinking maybe a infection. The spot were it burns isn't red or even warm on the skin. If it keeps doing it next week I will ask them when I have to take my DD back for an irritable bowel syndrome problem she's been having. Thanks for your advise
Barb, you really should get it checked out. Being that the skin itself isn't red or warm, it very well could be pinched nerve or clot. And if it's nothing to worry about, then you are better safe than sorry!
40 is not too young for it my sister is 32 and is already going through it. Get it checked out. It can happen early or late in life good luck.
