Mini bowling?
Has anyone ever done this? That's what we're going to end up doing this Saturday for Robin's birthday party. Turns out Saturday mornings at most bowling alleys (all the ones I called) are tournament or league bowling. So I found a mini bowling alley here in town and we're going to give it a try. We'll see. Robin's okay with it, but not really thrilled. I hope he likes it.
I have never even heard of it. Let us know how it is.
Do you mean 'duck' pins? They are the smaller bowling balls. We love to do this.
Bolwingo I don't know if it's the same as duck pin or not. We'll see Saturday!
I went and looked. It looks like duck pin bowling. If it is, there are no holes in the balls. You roll them like Bocce balls
I grew up in New England where candlepin bowling was the norm. You use smaller balls. But regular size pins. I find it much easier than the big balls.
We went this morning. The mini-bowling ended up being two lanes (1/2 size of regular) in the middle of an arcade. So we played a few games and then gave the kids a bunch of tokens for other games. They had a good time. DH and I ended up playing a couple games while the kids played other things. The place wasn't very busy, but we were there when they opened. I imagine they'd be busier after noon or evening. The other kids (two) were supposed to be picked up at noon. One mom showed up at 5 after apoligizing for being late because she went down the wrong street. No problem. The other kids went home 3 HOURS late! His grandparents said they couldn't find our house. Funny, the weren't answering their phone and their phone wouldn't accept blocked numbers so we know they had caller ID with our number on it. They could have called! AND they only live about 10 blocks from us (the kid rides his bike here all the time). Whatever. They did have a good time, though, and I guess that's what matters.
Glad you had a good time! Can you believe some people?!! ugh...
