I'm getting off BC Pills...
...but I'm not TTC. I think that the BC Pills mess with me. Whenever I am on them, I feel like my sex drive drops and when I am off of them for "that week" it seems to rise again. Has this happened to anyone before or is it all in my mind? Chris doesn't mind if I stop taking them, we will just have to be more careful, but I am wondering if the pill can really do this to you.
The pill affects me the same way. I havent taken it in years. The same thing happened to a friend of mine, she never was 'in the mood', and as soon as she got off of them, that all changed.
I had to go off BC pills 2 yrs. ago because I couldn't stand the head aches, mood swings, depression and lack of libido any longer. What a difference! I feel SO much better now!
O.k., this is probably a dumb question, but what is TTC? Hmmm, maybe the BC pills are my problem!?
TTC = Trying To Conceive
Hopefully the BC was the problem and you'll get your drive back. I havn't had much of a drive since DD as born. BC gave me pretty bad depression but definitely no lack of a drive since I was on them through high school and college. LOL! Maybe you could discuss with yout Gynecologist about differnt measures of BC that may work or even if your cycles are pretty consistent you can just go with natural family planning. Good Luck! .... or maybe this is Gods way of saying Rylee wants a brother or sister, LOL!
BTW just wondering when Rylees birthday is?
I am off the pill for the exact reason. No drive AT ALL when I am on them.
If you breastfeed, that can also lower your sex drive. My dh researched it...poor guy!
Melissa, Rylee's birthday is on November 23. Only 46 more days until my little baby is ONE.
I was on BC pills for 10 yrs. before kids with no problems. No depression or loss of libido. However, after kids and breastfeeding BC pills had a totally different effect on me.
Thanks Karen, that's kind of what i thought.
I've never liked BC pills. Definitely be "careful" in the bedroom if you aren't TTC
I asked my OBGYN about this for me, and he said that the ups and downs are caused by the differeing amounts of estrogen in the pills. See, BC Pills were created to mimmick the natural hormone fluctuations in a monthly cycle. There are BC Pills that have a constant amount of estrogen in each pill throughout the month. Check with your doc. for them.
I took BC pills for a few months when we first got married. THey must have been the wrong ones for me, since I never had a period while I was on them, even during the "off" week. I also didn't like how they made me feel. So, when the three months were up, I went off them and never looked back. Foam, condoms, foam alone, withdrawal or not depending where we are in the month, have worked okay for us. We only have the kids we planned for and it's been 12 years since I had a baby!
Good luck! BC did the same thing to me. I wonder if we're going to be hearing some news from you soon. LOL!
If it's meant to be then maybe you will (WINK WINK)
Unless you want another baby use BC. Don't leave TTC in the hands of a higher being. The higher being gave you a brain with the knowledge of BC. Welcome to reality. Being pregnant is special, babies are cute, toddlers even cuter...then they turn into teenagers. Bigger kids, bigger problems, bigger price tags!
Well, eventually we DO want another baby. All I am saying is that I do not like the way that I feel when I am on them. DH and I dated for 5 years before we got married, and yes, we did have sex during that time and never used protection. We could have just been lucky that nothing happened, but I am staying off BC. I know that they are meant for you not to get pregnant, but oh well. I want to be more intimate with my DH and so I am getting off.
