A slight miscommunication with my hairdresser
Now I have some kind of crazy punk rock hairstyle.....which normally would be ok in my book-if I had asked for it. My hair was past my shoulders and very blah(very 'tired mom'). I went in and asked for it to be very short in the back(almost shaved) and then to get gradually long so the front was looking all long and 'piecey' and I could tuck it behind my ears..(think-an inverted bob but without the length in the back). So I DID want it to be 'quite wierd'. She ended up cutting the front so short and wispy that only a few tiny 'feathers' of hair can go behind my ears.... It looks ok I guess but there is very little I can do to it. It wasn't what I really wanted. I almost think she accidentally cut a big piece off the front so that she had to quickly wisp the rest to match it. It happened so fast that I couldn't question her. I didn't say anything to her but I won't go back I don't think. It could have just been me not explaining properly what I wanted..... fiona (thankfully hair grows back eh?)
I always take a picture of what I would like it to be cut like or something similar. I know they don't always like me to do it. But I have a hard time explaining it to them. I do the same with our dds. It will grow back I bet it's easier to take care of. I would shave my head, but since I tripped over a kickball in the fifth grade and hit my head I have a lot of lumps on my head, lol!
I hate bad haircuts! I am sorry she didn't give you what you wanted. I try to take pictures in as well, but that doesn't always work.
I am sorry you didn't get the cut you wanted. If it makes you feel any better, I am right there with you. I actually took a picture in to my hairdresser last week, but she said she couldn't do the cut because my hair is too thick. So, we came up with something else. Well, everyone else loves it, but I hate it. I had a shoulder length bob with bangs. She cut lots of layers and it flips out at the bottom. It is cute, but takes to much time to fix. Oh well, It will grow out soon enough. I guess we can grow our hair out together.
I went to a family party and everyone LOVED it. So I feel a bit better........ fiona
I'm glad you are feeling better, Fiona! Haircuts are tough when they don't come out the way we want them to. Give it a week and it will feel better!
I have had a couple of cuts that I hated when I walked out of the salon and, after getting some feedback and getting to play with it at home, I ended up liking them. I hope that is the case with yours. It sounds like a breeze to style,. If it is, that is one postive aspect of it. BTW, have you seen Sliding Doors with Gwyneth Paltrow? Does your haircut look at all like hers, post-boyfriend?
