Should I or shouldn't I????
I am working again this year at a school that is 35 minutes away. I don't mind the drive so much this year, although winter hasn't arrived yet. I teach Monday and Wednesday until 2pm and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday until 11:45am. Another job has recently been posted at another school. It is a .25 (25% position) teaching grade 3 science and socials. I technically could do it. I would take the back road from my current job to where this school is (it would take me about 40 minutes) and then drive home after the grade 3 job (about 15 minutes). Hubby works where the grade 3 job is so he could drive home with me as he commutes with someone else on the way there. I think I would be able to fit it in time wise but do I want the mental stress that could come with it. PROS: 1. It would get me in to the system that is closer to our home 2. It would bump up my pay. I currently work 55% so this would bump me up to 80% 2. It would give me experience at at the grade 3 level CONS 1. drive 2. preparing for Kindergarten, Early LIteracy and Grade Three So, what do you all think?
It sounds like a great position. It couldn't hurt to apply and go from there.
I think that you should go for it. Ask them if you could do it on a two week trial basis and see how it goes.
I think it sounds great! It will help you get your foot in the door at the school closer to your house. Then, maybe when a larger job becomes available, they would consider you first. I would give it a try!
I would give it a try, it sounds like a great opportunity.
