I wasn't even looking for a job either! DH's boss from the Home Exterior company he works for offered me a job and I can bring Kaitlyn with me too! It's basically secretarial work calling to confirm appointments that were set for sales estimates. And hes offering $18/hr. I would work about 15 hours a week on my own schedule from about 4pm until about 8-9pm depending on the day and how late I want to work. I'm excited!

I'm not going to jump at the offer, i'm thinking about it over the weekend and have to let him know by Monday. I would just have to adjust to having DD and working around her and then DH can pick her up when hes finished with his part of the job, which is going to the appointments to give estimates... of course hoping for a sale.

So, what do you think? Does it sound too good to be true? (Well, I know its not because his boss is very reliable but then again I feel like its a dream)

It's great pay for part time work! Can you do it from home? If you can do it from home I'd jump at it. If not, I'd see what accomodations there would be for Kaitlyn and see how long she'd have to be at the office before your husband could take her home. Good luck!

What would Kaitlyn do while you are at work? Is there a place for her to play?

what an opportunity, things like that just do not happen, at least not in my world, I am still working at my job at 12 an hour. I wouldn't pass it up, you could just say you will try it on a trial basis, see how it goes, It may not be as great as we all think, but at least you can say you tried, hope you take it and find out ,which I am thinking you are leaning in that direction any way, good luck and congradulations!!!

It sounds great except for the "what to do with Kaitlyn" part. You know how kids somehoe become extremely needy the minute you talk on the phone and you'll be on the phone the whole time. I think a trial basis would be best to see if it works out, but it does sound like a great opportunity.

I think it's great. A nice opportunity for extra money and very, very good money for part time.

I don't want to throw cold water on your pleasure, but had some thoughts. Given that you will bring Kaitlyn with you, I'd do it on a trial basis to see how it works out for you and for her. Of course, you'll bring along what she needs to be entertained and happy while you're working. Your time will be spent on the phone talking to other people - how does Kaitlyn feel about you being on the phone for long periods at home?

Thanks for the concern Ginny. I've already given it thought and will do it on a trial basis to see how things work out. Generally, Kaitlyn is great about entertaining herself but I still can't rely on that considering we won't be in our usual home setting. I would work from 4-8 or 9 and DH would pick her up about 6 so thats 2 hours that i'd have to watch over her. I'm going to talk to his boss to see if I could possibly work at home, even if thats taking a few dollars pay cut. I'll let you all know how everything goes.
