Coupons & Coupon Trading Boards
I joined Momsview because I was so inspired by the savings I saw some mothers are having by couponing and doing Coupon Trading Boards. Can someone give me more info on the CTBs? I looked on the web last night and one was completely hard to understand and another looked cool, but when I tried to join what I could gather was I had to have my own website to join the "ring". HELP!!!
Ann, I'm not sure what part of the board you are trying to access? I know that I was probably one of the moms who posted about saving money on groceries. I'm not familar with a coupon trading board, though. My email isn't working at this time but feel free to post anymore questions and maybe I can be of some help.
We do not have a Coupon Trading Board. I'm sorry, but I don't know what you are referring to.
Yes, I believe it was Truestori that posted having great deals at the grocery store. I'm not sure where to start, but I clip coupons and save a few bucks $2-5), but nothing close to what you have done...I was able to find some trading boards (looks like it takes a lot of time) and places where you can actually BUY coupons (like 3 cents for a 50 center), but I just need a little direction as to how I can do better. For the most part I only buy items on sale, and even at that, it still has to be a deal...ANY advice would be excellent!! Thanks!!!
Ann, we don't have a coupon trading board here, but you are free to ask our members how they save on groceries, etc. Maybe you can email Stori for her suggestions.
Ann, I'm not familar with the stores in your area, but if you give me some names I may be able to help you out. I happen to live in a very coupon friendly town, therefore I tend to save quite a bit on my monthly grocery bill. I have a few tips to start out. I always buy atleast two newspapers, that way you have atleast two coupons for products you find that you may need. I shop when things are on sale, planning my meals around the sale items, and I always use coupons in conjunction with the sale item. I never enter a grocery store without my coupons that I cut for that specific week, and my coupon box just in case I have a coupon for an item that I didn't realize was on sale or clearance. Planning is really the key, that way you don't get sidetracked and start buying things you didn't intend on leaving with! LOL Once my email is up and running I will let you know and we can talk off board if you like. Hope I helped some.
Yes - I'll try your ideas and be more diligent about sticking to my list!! I'm in Oregon, so we have mainly Safeway, Albertsons, and Thriftways...oh, Winco (warehouse type) and Costco (which I haven't been to since before kids, but everyone tells me I need to!) Thanks!
Also you can go to safeway and the other stores websites for the online coupons... Too much trouble but I know someone who will only buy stuff on sales. He goes to different stores and only buys what is on sale. Hard to do with kids in tow for sure.
I think it is also called coupon swapping.. Should be able to find a message board devoted to that in google. Something like coupon swapping trading message board
Ann, Your Safeway or Albertson's may double coupons. That is a major way to save lots more on your grocery bill.
You are right, Tru, they do double coupons and why I never clip them...hmm...guess it's because I haven't been much of a clipper UNTIL NOW, so except for diapers, I never had any coupons. Found a site that sells coupons (2 cents for a 50 cent one) and bought $5 worth...should save me over $10...Now, if I can just find those items ON SALE too!! Going to start picking up the Sunday paper or find someone who tosses their coupons. Thanks again!
