I GOT THE JOB

I GOT THE JOB
I got the job I was hoping to get, the one that is a 20-25 minute drive from my house. And, because it is so close to the end of the year and I would not be eligible for a raise at the end of this year, they offered a starting salary higher than my asking salary. Benefits are great, the people are warm, friendly, and thoughtful. The only question now is whether, when my boss comes back to the office tomorrow, he accepts two weeks notice or tells me to get out on the spot.
That's AWESOME! Congratulations Ginny, I bet you're so excited!
Congratulations! SO are we hoping you have the two weeks there or get to start right away?
WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!! Maybe it was the "lucky" Hairspray...
Congratulations and Best of Luck!!!
Congratulations!!! Sounds like a step up Good luck with your current boss.
YEAH!!! Congratulations, Ginny!
That's great! Wouldn't you like a two week vacation before starting your new job? Congratulations!

Great news! Congratulations!
Kate and all - I needed to leave my present job because it has turned toxic. My boss, who was pretty much OK and often very nice for 5 years, started getting nasty - verbally abusive - over the past two years. At first it was occasional, then frequent, and eventually constant. When I went to the doctor a few weeks ago for a sinus infection my blood pressure, which has been a healty 115 or 120 over 80 or 85 for most of my life, was up 20 points, and I had lost over 15 pounds in the past few months. I was having trouble sleeping, no appetite, and depressed. After talking with the other attorney for whom I work, and a partner, it was clear that they were sympathetic but felt the situation would not change and they could not do anything helpful. Both encouraged me to look for another job and volunteered to be references. The big boss returns from a week out of the country tomorrow - we'll see if he will want me to work out the two weeks or leave immediately (in which case I'd take a few days and report to the new job next Monday, as the attorneys for whom I'd work are not only without a regular secretary, they are without a temp as of today). But, if he wants me to work the two weeks and gets nasty - I am OUTAHERE! Thank you all for your encouragement and support. It has meant a lot as I have struggled with job hunting at (shhh!) age 65.
Congrats Ginny! This sounds ideal!
Congratulations!

Wow Ginny, your boss sounds like my boss (except 15 years worth - he hid it well). I'm glad you're leaving. Whatever the old boss does don't let it get to you. You are better off leaving.
Congratulations Ginny! Sounds like a great job.
Good luck god do I wish I could post something like you have. I want a job!!!!!!!!
