Can I have a hug? DH made me upset.
Yesterday, my Mom took me shopping for some clothes. I was so excited because I have not gotten new clothes since last year. I finally lost a little weight and she wanted to buy me some things. When DH got home, he wanted to see what I got. I showed him and when I showed him a pair of brown dress pants, he asked if he could see them again and I asked why and he says, "Because the waist looks huge!!" I almost cried. He knows that weight for me is an issue. He kept apologizing and I just blew him off. I kept saying, "Whatever." That really hurt me. I just thought that maybe I could get some hugs here. I really need them today.
{{{{{{HUGS}}}}} And you can tell dh for me what my ex used to say BE SURE BRAIN IS ENGAGED BEFORE PUTTING MOUTH IN GEAR!
{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} Good suggestion, Ginny! Rayanne, Jen told me something similar recently and I'm not overweight. The *waist* of the pants she was referring to was not the *true* waist, since the styles are such that the clothes actually ride lower than my waist. Wait until your DH gets one of those *man-tummies* that ALWAYS seem to hang OVER their belts!!! Then you can have your revenge! :-)
(((Rayanne))). I wonder how his foot tastes?
(((Rayanne))) I know he feels bad. I agree with the ladies above. Don't let it bring you down. I know you look GREAT
Pam I was thinking the same thing.."Open mouth insert foot"
BIG ((((((HUGS))))) Beauty comes from within yourself and i'm sure your DH sees you beautiful inside so he made that comment without thinking.
Big hugs!!!
Oh sweetie. I struggle with my weight too. I am so sorry that happened to you. I am sure you look beautiful in all your new clothes and how sweet of your Mom to take you shopping! ((((((BIG HUGS))))))) aj
HUGS HUGS AND MORE HUGS!
Are you sure he meant it that way? When I read it, I was thinking he thought the waist was too big for your waist. Also, it is possible that he sees your waist much smaller and seeing the waistline of the pants just didn't make sense to him. I don't know, that is just my interpretation of his comment. You KNOW he would never say something that would be so cruel just to be mean to you.
Interesting thought Dana! Could be that is exactly what he meant!
((((hugs))))
Thanks Dana and everyone else. I never looked at it that way. I always read into everything. You all made my day.
(((hugs))) It should make you feel good that he thought your pants looked to big for you! I kind of thought the same thing as Dana. I was upset at my DH for years and years because after I had the first baby I said uuggg look at my stomach...because it lost all it's tone and he said, "it certaily doesn't look like it used too" I have carried that around for years and what he meant was, "it doesn't look like it did when you were pregnant".
Men sometimes don't exactly say what they mean, I think that Dana probably hit the nail on the head.
(((hugs))) I think Dana is right sweetie!
((hugs))
(((HUGS)))
((((hug))))). Weight is so so so hard to lose and I too am sensitive.
((Hug))
Rayanne, I needed a hug last night and you gave me one. You certainly need one today and here it is honey...((HUGGGG)). I hope you feel better. Anyway I saw your pic, and you're adorable. =)
(((Hugs))) My aunt says that guys can't be blamed for (most of) thier actions because they loose some of their brain cells during birth...sometimes I wonder how true that really is, lol!
