Small Prayers needed
Not human issues but none the less still important to me and my family Wilber (family dog) is going in to the vet tomorrow for out patient work (3-4hrs). They are going to put him under a local to knock him out. They have to do some work on his foot he had an abscess show up yesterday in between his toes the size of an egg. It popped but started reforming so in order to get rid of it totally they have to lance it, drain it and clean it then stitch it together so it will heal. Plus he is an American Cocker Spaniel and they get ear infections easily. I clean his ears weekly but when I was taught they did not tell me how deep I was suppose to go cleaning so he got infections in both so while he is out they are going to do a deep clean and show me how to do it properly. I feel so bad that I let him get this way and didn't even know about it. So he now had 5 meds to take for the next 60 days. Anyways long story short Wilber is no spring chicken (he is 8) so prayers all will go well without any complications.
Dear Father please bless Wilber. He's a good dog, and he is loved, so please watch over him, and help him to get better quickly.

Well we just got home and all is great. His foot was way easier than they thought it was going to be and his ears were not as bad as they thought either. They gave him a shot to put him under and the poor guy just looked so weird as he was falling asleep. I had to wait for him to start coming to some and moving before we could come home and I had to carry him outside (30lbs) quite heavy. He has a bandage on his foot that has to stay on for 5 days and stay dry so I get to baggie his foot before he goes out for the next 5 days. That should be fun. He is in the utility room right now snoring. They told me he will be out of it for like the next 6-10hrs. poor dog. Just seeing him walking in the house before he fell asleep you could tell he was still half out of it and drugged up. he was so confused. But thanks for caring everyone he is home and in way better shape then they thought.
glad to hear he is doing well =)
I'm glad to hear he's ok!!
Tonya, what we did with Zascha when she had a foot problem was to put a baggie over the foot, a tight fitting sock over the baggie to provide some traction and avoid slipping, and fasten it all with one of those things you use for pony tails, to keep it on (rubber bands can constrict too much). Make sure he drinks, watch to be sure he doesn't vomit, and don't feed him until he is fully awake and has been fully awake for a while, and then feed lightly the first time.
I bought a box of $1 store baggies they told me only put the baggie on for him to go outside so it didn't get moist inside the bag. Yeah no food until after 8pm tonight. I am only doing the bag when he goes out and I am keeping that to a minimum too. He hated to be outside when it is raining so this weather is working out in my favor sortof. He is sleeping in his bed right now again man I didn't realize how badly he snores!! But he home and happy so I am happy too. Thanks for caring everyone we really appreciate it.
I'm glad everything went well. Poor doggie needed to sleep it off! LOL! On Jasmine's original spay date, she was already sedated, when they realized she was in heat, so they didn't do the surgery. She was very out-of-it, too, so I kept her in her crate, until she was fully awake again. I remember she staggered when she walked, like a drunk doggie.
Glad everything went okay. Hopefully, he heals up quickly.
