Our neighbors heard us on our baby monitor...
One of my neighbors who has 3 daughters said to me the other day..."We might have heard your husband the other day when we turned off our monitor in the baby's room. We heard a man's voice cooing with a baby so we assume it's you guys since you have a newborn too. So, just to let you know, we can pick up your monitor....etc." He was SO nice about it! BUT, I'm wondering what he might have heard maybe from the next room!! Ha ha ha...
Oh my goodness. That is funny.
LOL Yes, you have to be careful We have police scanner and we sometimes pick up baby monitors. We always delete the channel though.
lol... be careful! That is hilarious!
Oops! LOL We have friends in our neighborhood who had that happen to them and when we moved into our house our baby monitor picked up one of our neighbor's cordless phone. We didn't know who it was because we were new to the neighborhood so we just changed the channel on the baby monitor. I'm glad your neighbor said something to you instead of just listening.
When I lived in Fl we would hear peoples phone conversations on our monitor all the time!!
We live in an apartment while my hubby was working on a project out of state. My little ones shared a room closest to the front door and then our room was near the back. WELL one night we heard cough, cough, cough, then I got up to check on my baby, he was sleeping soundly, then again I hear cough cough, followed by a woman's voice "it's okay, there there", scared the beejebers out of me! I really thought someone was in my house! When we moved back to our house our neighbors used to leave there monitor on constantly and we would always hear them, stuff that would embarrass them! It didn't take too long for us to toss the monitor!
When i was visiting my sister last winter, we heard a whole phone conversation on her baby monitor!! We have no idea who the two women were, but one of them was so glad that her house guest had finally left! LOL! Yes, we listened in for a few minutes then turned off the moniter. We thought it was pretty funny, but i'm sure they would have been so embarrassed if they knew we heard them.
I learned my lesson a long time ago. When my oldest was a baby (he's 15 now), our neighbors across the street also had a baby the same age. The mom came over one day and very politely told me that she was picking up our transmission. I realized then that we had it on ALL the time! I threw it out the that day and never used one again.
When my two were little I had the monitor on all the time. One day, while I was doing dishes I heard a man's voice. I had picked up my next door neighbors cordless phone call. I could his end of the conversation, but not the other. Okay, I have to tell the truth. I listened for a little while. He was talking about the affair that he was having with a red head down at the bowling alley! I was sorry that I hadn't turned it off right away. It was terrible knowing about his affair and having to see his wife everyday! I stopped using the monitor that day. I didn't like knowing about my neighbor and I didn't like the idea that maybe someone could hear things coming from our house!
When Randy was a baby we lived in a duplex. I was best friends with the mom in the other half and she had a dd a week younger than Randy (and a son just a little older than Robin, but that doesn't have anything to do with this! lol). We both had the same brand baby monitors and they had two channels. We figured this out quite quickly and each had our "assigned" channel. It worked out well, though. We would call each other up and say, "Hey, I'm going to mow the lawn. Can you turn your monitor to my channel and wave at me if the baby wakes up?" We had a good system going. But yeah, those things can pick up all kinds of stuff.
You have some very honest nice neighbours!
When I first read the title of this thread, the first thing I thought was they had heard you....during a private moment! LOL It's amazing what cordless applicances reveal. In my neighborhood, there's been a long standing joke for years about being careful what you say on your cordless phone. All of us have heard one or the other of us at some time on cordless phones. We've joked that if you want the whole neighborhood to know something, just tell someone on your cordless phone! And I have to admit, I may be paranoid now, but I have actually chosen NOT to say certain things on my cordless phone for just that reason - very private things about my life or things that could cause a problem for someone else. It may be just flukes that we've all heard each other in the past, but I'm taking NO chances. :-)
