TTC with #2 with PCOS on clomid
It's Holly! I was just wondering if anyone out there is going through the same thing? I was diagnosed with PCOS six years ago. We know that I don't ovulate on my own. After a year of trying and on my second month of clomid I got pg with Emma who will turn one!!! on Sept. 23rd. I know it's soon, but we want our kids close together. We've been TTC for four months now for our second. Since my ob gyn knows I don't ovulate, she put me on clomid last month. This is our second month on clomid (fertility meds) and I guess since we got pg with Emma the second month my hopes are really up for this month. I know I probably don't need to get my hopes up, but that's easier said than done. Tomorrow I go to get a vag. ultrasound to see if I have mature follicles. I'm pretty nervous;not about the ultrasound itself, but about the results. Anyone out there going through the same thing? It's pretty hard...
I have PCOS and also had LOTS of trouble conceiving #2. #1 was a lot easier. I randomly ovulated and said to dh- do you want to be a dad? If so, let's go! Got pg in one try that time. The second took us 2 years. I also was on clomid on and off many times. It never helped me ovulate though. Have you tried glucophage? That's what did it for me. I had my last period in April and got pg at the end of June (on Day 60). I never even had a cycle! I also got pg around day 60 with my first son too. It is really rough. I also had 2 m/c in between. I lost one at 4 weeks and one at 5 weeks. I had a threatened m/c at 11 1/2 weeks with my first too. By the time my fourth came around (my second child), I had a really great dr who immediately had me rush to the office when I found out I was pg. My progesterone was dangerously low and my numbers were dropping. I was given a shot in the hiny and went on oral progesterone until the fetus was 12 weeks. I also noticed you are a lot younger than me. I had me first son at 27 and my second at 32. I think age really makes a difference to so it's a good thing you are starting right away! Good luck! I also know of a message board for TTC PCOSers: www.soulcysters.net. I was also in a secondary infertility support group (online) while I was going through it all and that really helped me too.
Thanks Laura! I really appreciate it. My dr. did put me on glucophage with my first, but I had to stop taking it after two weeks bc I got so sick I dehydrated! I didn't need it with Emma, so I don't think I will this time either.
Did you start slowly? (Only 500mg at first?) Also, are you watching your diet? I was really regimented about my sugar intake. That really helped too.
