Need Financial Resources for a Friend
I have a friend whos DH is was on medical leave from work due to a back surgery. He works with the military but on the outside if you KWIM. They are trying get him a "head honcho" position but it has been 5 months and the military is taking its time. In the meantime they have 2 teenage boys and she babysits during the day. But they are at a point now where it is either pay the bills or eat. I was just wondering if anyone knows of resources in CA to help them financially. Maybe get some food, help with rent or the boys school finances. Anything to put a few dollars in their pocket or give them some extra food. She doesnt want to jump to welfare because once her DHs job kicks in they will be fine but something that may work temporarily. Any suggestions are really appreciated.
I'm not from CA but here's a link for food banks in CA. http://www.cafoodbanks.org/
Salvation Army & churches I will keep them in my thoughts.
Look up www.DaveRamsey.com. He has a call in talk radio show. Not only does he have alot of info on his website you can read thru. You can also listen to archives of past radio shows.
They should be eligible for food stamps, which is not cash welfare.
I'd check the local area - many churches and volunteer organizations help provide food/groceries for families in need.
