One year old gifts?
Everyone keeps asking me what they can get Rylee for her 1st Birthday. It's not until November, but I guess that they are already looking. I have told people to get her learning stuff and clothes and gift certificates. Can anyone think of some good things for her?
Joe got a recliner for his first birthday. Savings bonds are always a good gift fot her future.
A wagon is a nice 1 year old gift. They have some really fancy wagons now with flip up back rests & drink holders.
Learning toys are great, especially the LeapPad reading stuff. I think at that age is when the bigger toys start to be interseting to them. Like little kitchens for girls and tool benches for boys. DD has a built in sand box outside and loves the beach toys for the sand. And clothes are definitely a great idea. I cant believe shes gonna be 1 soon!
My nephew is 1 (will be 2 in October). He has been staying with us since last Thurday. He has a Breyer's stuffed horse named 'Cocoa' that he runs around with alllllllll day long. My 4yo liked it so much we went and bought him one on Monday. He got a Chestnut Filly named 'Rocky'. lol GREAT horses. When Blake turned 1yr we bought him a learning table that he could stand up at and play. We also gave him a tricycle with a long handle on the back so we could push him around on it until he could reach the petals better. He got a wagon too that was great until my older kids broke it. I wasnt very happy with them.
When my older daughter was 16 months old, she got a Little Tykes easel and a bouncy horse for Christmas. She loved both of them. (She is a big kid now, though!)
I really wanted the Intelli-table for Nico. We didn't get one though, but I thought it was neat.
Bath toys? An outdoor infant swing for a tree? My DD loved at that age (Maybe a little older) a little fire engine that she rode around the house and outside.
Dana, I saw that and put it on her list. We'll see if she gets it. We probably won't get her anything till after her party to see what she gets. Is this a good idea, or should we bring something to her birthday from us.
My ds got an Intelli-table for his first birthday, he liked it alot and actually just started playing it again this week, he is 3 now. I love the Fisher-Price little people and all the stuff that goes with them. My dd got the Farm and the house for Christmas when she was 18 months old and STILL plays with them sometimes, she is 5 now. They are great toys to pretend play with. The little ones can stick them in their mouths without worrying about choking. We have the house, farm, airport, school, bus, tractor, fun park, circus train, and a whole bunch of little people. The kids love them. My dd also got a ride on toy with buttons to push for her first birthday.
Rayanne, hey! Thanks for greeting me! We can talk a lot since our girls are only 2 months apart! For Emma, we're getting her a radio flyer pathfinder wagon. My best friend got her little girl one for her 1st birthday (just 2 months ago) and she is crazy about it. They're about $70 from walmart or toys r us. I can't wait to get it for her. About giving her something on her birthday... we're giving her the wagon on her birthday, but waiting to get her anything else until after her birthday bc we want to see what she will still need after all her other presents. I think you do need to give her atleast a little something just in case all she gets is clothes. That way she'll have something fun to play with. See ya later. by the way my email is hdelfuego@aol.com
I agree with the Little People toys and the wagon. Brendan got a wagon about that age and we still use it for walks and such. The little people toys are awesome. Brendan has the castle, the zoo, the airport, the farm, and the parking garage. The house for the little girls is so cute, my niece loves hers.
I think that's a good idea Rayanne, waiting to get her a gift until after the party. She won't notice that mom and dad didn't get her anything.
