At what point did you lose the preggers belly?
I first added this subject to the parenting section...lack of sleep...sorry...(thanks Karen for responding on the other section). It's been 2 months and, while I know I should be patient, my preggers belly is still here. I've been working out for 20 min before breakfast almost every day and watching what I eat. I guess I just want to know at what point after pregnancy did you feel like you got your body back? (I know it's never going to be the same, but this "pooch" is larger than normal and I'm 2 sizes larger than before.) What was it like for you?
2 MONTHS..... It's been 5 years for me and counting! Good luck with that!
Well, it's been around 9months, 3rd child. Never had a belly as I do now. I'm trying to patient and waiting for that 1 year mark when they say it takes around a year to get back into shape for alot of women. Some women bounce back so quickly. 2 months is a short period of time, try to be patient....and yes I'm begining to think it may be 5 years and counting until I see mine fully, if even GONE completely. Just think of how you got that belly in the first place, it sure was worth it!
Gosh Im only 16 days after my babies birth, and getting depressed with the way I look ...Ive always been overweight, but never like this...and I was just still noticing my "bigger" belly in the shower this morning.
I was always lucky in this area. I could get back into my pre-preggo jeans/clothes about 2-3 weeks after each birth. However, my tummy has never been as firm as it was before pregnancy. It has a little extra mush or something to it LOL
Well, dd will be 10 in December...you mean I should have lost that belly by now!!!!!! LOL
8 months to get down to what I was.
Its now 15 months after DD was born and i'm just now seeing a light at the end of the tunnel... errr.... a tighter more fit tummy It takes lots of time and patience. And even then I still stare at stretch marks and "extra" skin everyday, no matter how fit I get.
It really depends on how tight your abs were before you got pregnant. If you had tight abs, then chances are with a good ab routine you can get back into shape relatively quickly (6 mons or so). If you didn't have good abs to begin with then it will take a lot longer. There are two issues to deal with. Fat and muscle. You need to reduce the fat around your waistline and do a variety of exercies to increase the tone of your abs. Crunches alone are not going to do it. Do a search for ab exercises and you'll see there are a whole bunch of good ones. I really like using an exercise ball. Good luck! I'll be in your shoes in about 3 weeks. I'm just hoping I have an easy enough delivery that I can start exercising right away. When my son was born, I had to wait 6 weeks, and by then, I was so caught up in the baby routine that I had no place to fit in my workouts. Ame
DD was born 2 months ago and I can wear all my "Fat" clothes and am about 2-3 pounds away from wearing my regular clothes. I just started working out again so it should noy be to much long...I hope.
I never did lose it, but did not do anything about it either so it is kind of my fault
I'm at 2 months and I think I have GAINED weight and gotten fatter since Kiko was born. With Eliah, it took about 3 months.....After breastfeeding for a year, I weighed about 99 pounds(was 135 before I got pregnant). I will breastfeed as much as I can and hopefully lose some weight.... fiona
Remember though, it's not just about losing weight. You can have no fat on your abs and still have a pooch because they are out of shape. You have to exercise them to tone them. Ame
Vickie..LOL! One thing I noticed with my first dd was that even though I managed to get back to my pre-preggers weight, my shape had definitely altered (can you say wider hips?). My old jeans just didn't work any more. It's been 9 years since my last dd was born, but I still have a pooch. I've made peace with it, though (for the most part!) At 42, I'm just not going to look like I did at 23!
Heidi- I also forgot to mention, Winsor Pilates. I guarantee you will notice a difference (not in size loss but muscle building) in a week or 2. There is a 10 week program you can follow and there has been a lot of success with inches lost after the 10 weeks.. I follow it but I dont diet and i'm noticing a difference. Dont ever expect to have a pre proggo body, just tone up what you can. Good luck!
