Nervous break down big time!!
Well, yesterday the girls just got back from camping, all was well they had their baths, and well I guess they were home about an hour, I was resting in my chair ( back is out) and all of a sudden I hear this screaming coming from my 16 year olds bedroom, by the time I get their she has run to the bathroom, and is holding her mouth and screaming why why , and is totally red faced and crying , beyond what any parent wants to hear. I finally got her to take her hand away from her mouth, ( her front tooth is half chipped off) from about the middle of the gap on the front straight down to the bottom of the outside edge of her tooth. Turns out she picked up this huge back massager, and I guess she pulled to hard and it smashed her in the face, and she heard the crack. I called the dentist, with her screaming and crying in the back ground, but they could not get us in yesterday, so we have an appointment today to get it fixed. Unfortuanatley but very very neccessarily looks like the money we have to get this flooring finished is going to have to wait. I looked it up on the computer ( the cost) and it said anywhere from 200 to 700 for such a repair. To have the guy come in and do the floor was 712.00 to sand and refinish. But my dd smile will be worth so much more than that dumb old floor. The flooring has old finish on it, so I think we are most likely going to pick out the best boards, and wash them up and lay it down in the livingroom, and put some future on it for now to seal it. It will not look as fantastic, but it will do.
You are right- that smile is worth a million.
I chipped my tooth at 7 and it was very severe. It made a huge difference to me that my parents made it a priority to have it fixed and made sure that all the follow-up care was done. It was very expensive (the dentist attempted 3 root canals and we went through 6 caps before we got one that was "just right") but my mom still doesn't resent spending that money. I'm sorry about your floor but, hopefully, it will be done soon and you will appreciate it that much more.
