First time ever!!
Tonight was the first time I ever went out with my girls by myself! Dh is on a trip, and will be back home at 10 a.m. on Saturday, but I wanted us (me and the girls) to have a night on the town. I asked Katelyn what she wanted to eat and she said "Pizza!" I was scared at first, but I didn't chicken out we all went in and ate at Pizza Hut and then went to Baskin Robbins for an ice cream. I have always felt so out of control, with my children being the ages they are, to not have dh there to "rescue" me if one of the girls get out of hand, but I DID IT! yay. I have went to the store with them, don't get me wrong, and I run errands with them, but I have never went out to eat with them in a restaraunt type setting without dh. Anyway, that was a big accomplishment for me and I wanted to share...lol. I think we will start doing this more often, it was fun with "just us girls".
I'm glad you had a good time with your daughters. I completely understand what you mean about being scared without dh there to "rescue" you if the girls acted up. That is exactly how I feel with my 3 boys. I don't even go to the store with them without dh! LOL I *could* do it, but it's not worth the trouble if dh could just come along or sit with the kids while I run my errands. How did the girls like their night out with just their mommy? I bet they were just as excited as you were. That is wonderful - I hope you get to do it more often. It will definitely create some lasting memories for you and the girls!
They had a ball! Hailey got ice cream all over her white shirt (duh! I put them in white to go eat pizza and ice cream...lol). Katelyn on the other hand (miss perfectionist), didn't get a drop of anything on her white shirt. They both got to ride the horse at the store (we went after we ate). One embarrassing moment though...while eating, Hailey looks up and says "dada", I turn around and there is a man behind us in the booth looking at her. I wanted to sink down under the seat. I quickly said dada is working (loud enough so the man could hear). It was the highlight of the evening..lol Katelyn use to do that when she was that age too. Why do my children feel the need to embarrass the daylights out of me?lol We will most definitely have memories from tonight to last a lifetime..lol
That sounds like fun. I am really looking forward to doing girl stuff with Rylee when she gets older.
ROFL about the "dada" thing. My middle child used to do that to all the soldiers constantly when my dh was deployed in Iraq. They all look the same in uniform, LOL
Sounds like great fun! I just recently started eating in restaurants without DH. My kids are all young and close in age.
I love to do this with just ds and I and, like movies, zoo, ice cream. I have yet to go out to eat with him alone though. Sounds like you girls had a blast!
