Hi all! I recently started working out of my home. My office is actually my daughters old bedroom and it's purple. I don't mind the purple, but I need something else in here. I definitely need a theme and I really don't want to repaint. Any suggestions? Right now I have white trim and white curtains. I'm a PT medical transcriptionist and I spend a decent amount of time in here. I also share the office with my hubby and daughter, so I can't have it too cutesy. Any suggestions? I'm a big kitty lover, so it would be fun to maybe do a theme. Who knows? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Sandy SAHM WAHM Teach AHM
You could do a border of Kitty paw print in white paint, that would be cute. And you could hang pictures of kittens on the wall. Purple is kind of a girl color anyway, so I don't know if you can get away from it being "cutesy". If you were up to painting maybe you could paint it a beige or something that is more of an "office" color, even a red or green would be better. Good Luck maybe someone more creative could help you. Personally our office will be done in a musical theme since DH is on staff playing piano at our church. That will be a beautiful room.
What about a royal theme. If it is a deep purple you could carry off some king/queen stuff, I picture gold sceptors at curtain tie backs, etc.

I immediately thought violets and shabby chic style. White curtains with purple chintz accents, like a cafe curtain. Target had a pretty purple, lavender and white Shabby Chic line last year that was really pretty and feminine. Office but comfortable. You could also do grapes with a dark green accent color. I've seen some great grapevine stencils that you could use as a border at the top of the room or at chair rail height. (Chair rail height means no step-stool or ladder. I hate heights! )
