Hardly awake
Last night I did a night shift, cleaning for the hall that I work at, it was from 11-3 am I am so tired now. I also promised my friend I would babysit her daughter today, only because I thought I was not doing the night shift last night, but next weekend, so since I promised, I got my girls to watch her early this morning, I went to bed at 4 am and she got here at 8 this morning, I woke up at 10 still not eneough sleep, hopefully dh will watch her if I crash. I did not mind the night shift, but It takes alot of engery out of you when you are not use to it. Does anyone else work late shifts like that?
Before kids I loved working overnight shifts. There is no way I would ever be able to pull off a shift like that now! I hope you can get more sleep very soon.
My dh works from 10pm to 6:30am and then watches my youngest while I am at work from 9am to 3:30pm. He goes to sleep as soon as I get home and I don't know how the poor man gets by. He has worked night shifts off and on as long as I've known him but you have to be insane to do it for very long. Believe me, he is nuts!
I worked nights for nearly 10 years when I worked at a hospital. Now, I work at a clinic and M-F, we are open until 7:30pm. The latest I have ever been there is 10:25pm. (usually not that late, though!) Also, I don't have to work holidays. It is the perfect job! I'm glad to not have to work third shift anymore!
Not any more, but when I managed a bowling center in Washington State I worked until 2:00 a.m. when we closed all the time.
I'm a night owl, so I don't mind late shifts, but my job now is only day time. I'm NOT a morning person, so when I have to open I'm a little cranky!! I hope you get a coffee fix, or a nap soon!!!
