Prom Themes
What was your prom theme? And/or, what themes have your DK's had? Thanks
Geez, I had to go find my yearbook to remember. Bob Seager's "We've Got Tonight". For some reason I can remember my sister's theme, off hand, from 1975, which was Jim Croce's "Time In A Bottle".
Our prom had no theme. I went to a huge high school....Cardinal Dougherty, in Philadelphia. We had approximately 1200 kids in my graduating class. The only place big enough to hold our prom was Convention Hall in Philadelphia. DH was in the army already, and couldn't get leave, so I went with Paul, the base player from our Folk Singing Group...The Springhill Singers.
My junior year was very original *eg*: A Night To Remember and my senior year was: Paris at Midnight. I didn't remember mine either and had to check my yearbook. Both were decorated almost identically, only the colors were different: red and black; blue and silver.
Junior Prom (1986) "These Dreams" (popular song by Heart) Senior Prom (1987) "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" (popular song by Starship)....DH was my prom date and, true to theme ;) Nothing Stopped Us!LOL
Cybermommy, that was our song at our wedding reception in 1988 (Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now)! LOL! I don't remember what my prom theme was. ?? My brother's (1977) was Stairway to Heaven. LOL! Trina and prom date - 1981
Bummer. I couldn't find the pic on my hard drive.
My senior prom (1991) was "Forever Young". Everytime I hear that song it takes me back.
Great pic Bea! Trina, I wish yours would have worked!
We didn't have a junior prom, only a senior one. My date was DH and I have a picture, but no scanner at home. Our theme was a cruise with those types of decorations and our song was "The Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston. (1986) I had an absolute blast. We actually had a prom weekend. After the dance there was a senior breakfast at a local hotel. We slept for about 3 hours and then drove down to Panama City, FL where 2 of my friends' parents had side-by-side condos. Guys were in one and girls in the other. We had about 10 couples total there. We spent all day on the beach and played volleyball, then our whole sr class met up again at a restaurant/club that a classmate's uncle owned and we got it all to ourselves dancing the night away. Since the guys paid for the prom, the girls paid for dinner. I have tons of pictures from that weekend. It is such a great memory, esp. since a lot of us who went as couples ended up getting married.
Like Tink, ours was "A Night to Remember".
I can't remember my senior prom theme, but my junior prom theme in 1976 was "Precious Moments".
1983 Senior Prom!!!! (AUGGGHHHH... 21 years) The song was "Wishing on a Star"!!!
I have no clue! I don't even know where my yearbook is to look. OH! I DO have a keychain right here from my prom (it's got my brother's senior pics in it!). It says "Hold On To The Night". I guess that was our prom theme. I still don't remember though. Guess I'll take the keychain's word for it! That was senior prom (1989). I didn't go to my junior prom (my friends had to drag me to the senior one--I didn't really like dances). I went with the guy I'd dated my entire senior year. We broke up two months later when I left for Texas (basic training). We both knew a long distance relationship would be hard and didn't want to "tie the other down." We did remain friends for a few years, though. Wow, what a stroll down memory lane.
