Help! Stubborn Crayon Stain.
I have tried everything I can think of. Vinegar, Hydrogen Peroxide, Laundry Detergent, Baking Soda, Resolve carpet cleaner. I just can't get this stain up. My DD wrote on her carpet with crayon. It's faded a little, but black crayon on a light pink rug shows up. If anyone has any sure fire methods, I'd love to know! I've looked on the Internet, but I can't find anything new to try. Thanks.
Try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I have no idea if it will work on a carpet, but I sure know it works on everything else. If all else fails, put her toy box on top of it. :o)
Try oxi-clean. This has worked for me in the past. It got up paint off of my carpets.
My favorite carpet cleaner is Folex. Works on almost anything!
I tried the Magic Eraser with the peroxide and it almost lgihtened up the purple so that you can't see it. The black, well, it lighted up, but you can still see it some. It's grey. LOL! Still, it's getting much better! Thanks. Hmmm, I don't think I have any Oxi clean. I never cared for it in the past, but it's worth a shot! I've never heard of Folex. Where do you get it Melanie? Thanks, everyone.
I find it at the hardware store, Eve. I knew it was good when my carpet cleaning guy showed up and he was using it to pre-treat stains!
if you take a damp wash rag lay it on the spot take a towel lay it over top and iron it. Don't use steam on the iron and don't let it there too long it could melt your carpet. Good luck

At your local dollar store they should carry a nifty little cleaner called AWSOME! I LOVE IT! It gets up just about everything. It took cake decorating color out of my carpet. And its only a dollar. They make a laundry stain remover, a bathroom cleaner, a kitchen cleaner and an all-purpose cleaner.
From http://www.crayola.com/ How to remove Crayons (Regular) from carpet and upholstery: Materials
- Sponge
- Paper towels
- Dull knife or metal spoon
- WD-40® (car part lubricant)
- Liquid dishwashing detergent
- Small stiff bristle brush
Procedure Scrape excess crayon off with a dull-edge knife or metal spoon. Spray with WD-40 and let stand a few minutes. With a small, stiff bristle brush work crayon stain and wipe with paper towels. Respray with WD-40 and apply liquid dishwashing detergent on the sprayed area; work in with the brush and wipe stain away with a damp sponge. If stain remains, repeat the procedure. For another method, use any brand upholstery cleaner as directed on the container.
My favorite carpet spot remover is Spot Shot. I've gotten it a Target. I don't know if it will work on Crayon stains though.
